BYU -9
CSU +9
then take Houston -10.5
thoughts on today?

How's BYU gonna be this year?
Posted on 8/29/14 at 1:27 pm to Carson123987
BYU will be strong this year. If Taysom Hill has improved as a passer they will be very good.

And to add my 2 cents into the teaser debate- Statistically it is not the best option...but some people are not betting on games to maximize their edge, just have fun/gamble.
I think if someone asks if it's a good idea, sure, tell them what you think...what I don't agree with is going out of your way to tell someone how stupid their bet is.

If you had a Ole Miss and LSU ML parlay would you hedge. Risk 500 to win 410

Very Strong Offensively.
BYU TT Over 34 is my biggest wager of the night.

Ok I feel this kind of shite needs to be nipped in the bud in the first week...
First off, if you're asking this question I'm going to assume you're not actually betting $500. At least I hope for your sake you aren't. If you are, I can set you up with a casino host at any number of places out here.
Secondly, you're wanting to hedge a $50 ML parlay that doesn't even pay even money....why did you even make the bet in the first place? Why didn't you just place an Ole Miss bet and then an LSU bet? The games are 2 days apart...
Please explain yourself. And in case my answer wasn't clear, no, don't hedge a parlay that doesnt even pay even money.

Only value I see tonight is on Bowling Green.

Put in some real work last night, late night pure degenerate number crunching. Sorted a vast amount of information into a form that could be easily digested. Feeling confident about this weekend.
Friday Night
BYU TT Over 34
BYU -13.5 (-130 bought it down)
Bowling Green -6.5
CSU/Colorado Under 58.5
UTSA +10.5

What makes you like this side?
UTSA returns 19 starters from a team that wasn't very good and lost to UH by 31 at home last year. Brand new stadium opens tonight for Houston and they return a ton of starters from a defense that led the nation in turnovers last year.

I'm on the UH side as well, but before you get too gung-ho about last year's 31 point win, know it was 31-28 heading into the 4th.

Yep. Very well aware. I'm still curious about the reasoning of what would make one like the other side of this line. The end result is the only thing that matters. The score of the Ole Miss Boise game last night was also 7-6 heading into the 4th quarter last night.

You like BG to cover?
Babers doesn't think the team will have a "full grasp" of the offense at the earliest the end of the season. I personally think that's just coaching talk. In their second preseason scrimmage they scored TDs on 8/10 drives. That BG defense isn't all that bad either, they return 6 starters from the best MAC defense last season.
WKU returns their QB and 9/11 starters on offense but they lost their RB to the NFL (Titans, he had 1500+ rushing yards last season). The QB has questionable decision making skills but greatly improved over the last four games of last season.
WKU defense will be bad, their secondary is pretty much all new and all inexperienced/young players. From the sound of beat writers, the DB is the biggest concern on the team and even listening to the WKU DC talk, he didn't seem to have much confidence in the group.
I like BGSU but I am not sure if I like them enough for -7

Well like you said, they return 19 starters, Houston isn't Alabama, they fell off last year after their starting QB went out and they've had an entire off season for this QB to prepare, 10 points is a decent amount...they're an up and coming team
Posted on 8/29/14 at 2:19 pm to JG77056
Yeah and they have a decent coach in Larry Coker. I just don't think the 19 starters they return were all that great of football players to begin with. I can see not liking Houston. I just can't really see liking UTSA enough to play them is all. Big difference in the two.

Bowling Green down to -6.5 - am I missing something here?
Was wondering the same thing. The O/U moved from 64 to 61.5 as well.
