It's why I think Buffalo won't move Ehrhoff. He's a $4m cap hit... until 2021. At which point he'll be 38. There's no way I take on that contract unless I'm desparate for a defenseman. Hell, the Caps kind of ARE desperate for a defenseman of his quality and I'd flip my shite if they took on that cap hit. It's a horrible, horrible deal.

Japers doth protest too much about the Caps lack of goalie problems. The team went through a ten game stretch in which a goalie had a save percentage below 90% 7 times. It's a problem. Sure, it's not THE problem, but the Rink keeps insisting its not a problem at all.

Sweet. Dump next year's cap, open up a slot for Kuz. The Caps have about $15 million next year to sign about four players (including re-signing Grabovski and Penner).
The Caps got rid of every player who asked for a trade. Every damn one. Laich took a shot at Erat on twitter (something like we got a got who runs to the fire and got rid of a perimeter player). Sounds like the Caps moves were motivated by two things: the locker room and the cap.
