My question for the 2nd half, did JVR and Philly blown their load in Sochi? I am thinking no from what I hear Leafs are chomping at the bit hearing good things from the Leafs practice, oh and Carey Price out for a couple?

i.e. He's fatigued and needs a few days off to rest his legs. That motherfricker deserves it though.

Price got hurt in practice upon his return. Or, that's the story.

Olympic injury check:

Tavares - MCL
Martin - broken hand
Zetteburg - strained back
Price - I think they are saying a knee

Anyone else get hurt? That's off the top of my head. Islanders have to be pissed.

Yeah, the Islanders owner came out swingin' after Tavares went down. Dude was livid. Those are the breaks though.

Kimmo Timonen is out tonight for Flyers, cause he is still fatigued from Olympics.

More Olympic injuries

Tomas Kopecky - Concussion
Aleksander Barkov - Knee
Ryan Kesler - Hand may not miss anytime though
Fedor Tyutin - Ankle 2-3weeks
Mats Zuccarello - Fractured Hand

I think that's all of the injuries though. Any more?

Anxious to see how Malkin looks tonight.

Hopefully no carry over effect.

Man, Malkin's been ripping the holy hell out of the Russian coaches. Apparently, he was begging them to put him and Ovie on different lines due to their style of play not being well-matched. That way they could put Malkin with Kovalchuk and Ovie with Datsyuk. They wouldn't listen. Also, apparently both of them lobbied hard for Gonchar to be on the team, as he's well-respected by both NHL and KHL guys and serves as a bridge between the two camps.

Doesn't surprise me, Russian coaches to were a joke.

How you don't make changes with how it was going is beyond me.

I'm surprised they're actually still alive.

1st rounder is conditional on the Blues making the conference final or re-signing Miller.

I also unreasonably love Steve Ott. He's the exact player that fancy stats were invented to show the value of. He's slightly below water on possession, but he plays against the toughest competition and consistently starts in his own zone. He was also top ten in faceoffs last year. Oh, and everyone who is not on his team hates his ever-livin guts, yet he's worn the A or the C at every stop of his career.

He's precisely the sort of gritty checking line center a contender needs. Miller, of course, is the headliner, but I think Ott seals this deal. He's a great addition.

Penguins emerging as frontrunners to land Ryan Kesler.

Hearing Pouliot and Brandon Sutter plus a pick.

Hate to give up Pouliot if true, he's going to be so good just like Maatta but we've got a ton of young talent defensively so I guess I could live with it.

Jackets spank the panthers today

3 points behind last spot in the metro and wildcard. Going to be a hell of a battle down the stretch.

Hertl is going to skate soon

It would be great to get him back before the stretch

I also wouldn't be surprised to see us make a deadline move like usual.

Instead of a Zamboni, it looks like they need a snowblower at Soldier Field.
