Battle of Pennsylvania already spicy
I don't think either of these teams are very good, but they hate each other so it should make for good watching

Yeah, I don't like either one. Sheetz vs Wawa... I *think* I'm Sheetz. But I hate the Pens, so, just go 7 games and beat the tar out of each other.

Pretty much this although I’d laugh my arse off if Edmonton lost to them this time.

Good pad save at the buzzer. I wish there was a 9:00 game to cap off the night.

Yeah - no reason why a series is starting Monday night when both teams would have full days rest before tonight. Either of the Pacific series would have been fine to start right now.

I suppose it's possible there's a concert or some other event at the Oilers arena. Or could start Kings/Avalanche instead of an early start tomorrow. How long does it take to convert the playing surface from hoops to hockey?

Typically its an overnight conversion. If you have a Saturday night basketball game, you can have a hockey Sunday matinee without a lot of difficulty.

Assuming that the first event doesn't go to OT.

Avs Lines at morning skate-top 6 Kelly- and trying to get some playoff chemistry on that talent heavy third line I think:

Lehkonen - MacKinnon - Necas
Kelly - Nelson - Nichushkin
Landeskog - Kadri - Roy
Colton - Drury - O’Connor - ( Kiviranta - Bardakov )

Devon Toews-Cale Makar
Brent Burns-Josh Manson
Brett Kulak-Sam Malinski (Blankenburg)
Wedgewood.

Kadri and Manson still dinged up.
Avs 5-2.

Part of me thinks it'll be funny if the Canes and Avs meet in the SCF, and the Canes win.

Part of me will be heartbroken for Brent Burns. One of sports' true beauts.

Necas owns the Kings. Expect him to have a great showing this series.

I could see the Avs coming out a bit below expectations here given the Kings are playing with house money. But hopefully they'll just play their game and get a big win.

Kings are pretty bad though. There was only one team with less regulation wins (22) than them and that was Vancouver with 15

Avs have one waived off. It looked like a good call.

Avs need to get into gear
The longer you let these lower scoring teams hang around, the more pressure to score goals and bigger chance to lose

Kings really shouldn't be a challenge at all for the Avs. Your three best players 34, 36 and 38 years old, and Kopitar is out after this year.

In goal you'd have to hope that Slukynsky or George can step in and be the guy sooner than later. Win-now mode is an understatement.

Avs power play woes continue. Gonna bite them in the arse if they can’t figure it out.

Colorado scores with about four minutes left in the second period.

Lekky steps up. He's always in the right spot.
