I can't. If the league wants to grow, it can't be the same old teams that win. Southern teams winning only helps the league obtain that goal. Canada will always be a hockey hotbed win or lose. And it's not like the Patriots were NFL royalty before Brady and Belichick. They were one of the worst run teams for decades.

I think like 40% of current NHL players are from Ontario. Which shows how shitty Toronto is.

I agree, but you can’t pretend people had no reason to hate the Patriots, just like you can’t pretend people don’t have a reason to hate the Florida Panthers.

The Patriots had dislikeable coaches, players, fans, and owner. The media cramming Brady and Bilichick's greatness down out throat got old quick. I don't find anyone on the Panthers dislikeable. And their fans are much more tolerable. I don't even dislike Marchand anymore.

Florida is tough as nails. Why did the rest of the league let the rat go to Florida?

Fans hate Bennett because he plays a little dirty. Marchand being added only makes that worse for the Panthers. However, both of them are players you would want on your team in a heartbeat.
What's funny is I don't remember hearing about the tax haven argument when both Florida clubs were bottomfeeder teams.

I can watch this all day

It’s so funny how all these experts keep talking about how much of a “lackluster” and low-energy performance it was from Edmonton.
Yeah man they don’t have the depth that Florida does. McDavid had nearly 30 MINUTES of ice time in an overtime Game 4, a lot because they got down 3-0 and they had to step on the gas to come back. Then it’s a 6-hour flight with a day less rest and he is out there for nearly 26 more minutes? I know he’s the best skater in the world and his minutes are inflated because he’s on the ice for every PP, but to contrast the Panthers only had one Forward play more than 20 minutes last night.
I just don’t know if that’s sustainable in a long series against Florida. If you think back to Game 7 last year, those Edmonton forwards were exhausted at the end of that game. Bottom line, the Oilers need to be front runners against Florida and they’re getting down early in every game and having to push and push to equalize.

It's not even just depth. Not one of their lines could consistently get the puck through the neutral zone the entire game.
They've been outtalented the entire series. It's wild that they won 2 games.
Add Bob >> Skinner/Picard, and the Oilers are very lucky to make it to game 6.

If tweet fails to load, click here. The Cats really should have already won the Cup.

And they almost stole a 3rd one too. This series really isn’t even that close and should already be over. If Edmonton pulls it off somehow it’s going to be a tough one to swallow.

The Rat is +18 in 22 playoff games so far.

I just hope we come out Tuesday night and put this to bed.
We have clearly been the better team but that means nothing in terms of game 6 and even less if we have to go back to Rogers for a winner take all game 7.
I believe in these Cats regardless, but if it comes down to one game for it all, you never know. And I’d rather not have to find out.

Now a lot of them bitch about how we have unfair advantages over the Canadian teams. Fuuuck them.
No one loves hockey, but hates hockey fans, more than Canadians. They're miserable. There's an arrogance around them that somehow, only they understand the game, and it doesnt/couldn't be appreciated by anyone else, ever.
I love hockey. Never lived farther north than Tennessee. But I honestly have a very difficult time relating to other/Canadian hockey fans. They're arrogant like SEC football fans, but somehow significantly more entitled. SEC footballs fans at least have a reason for their supremacy beliefs. Canadians really don't.

Panthers need to lock in tonight. Sorta wish they played away because they seem to be better away from home, but it would be really cool to see them raise the Cup in Sunrise again.

Skinner back in goal tonight

Think the Panthers get it done tonight
Marchand been getting lots of Conn Smythe hype last few games but IMO it should be Bennett

great effort from Reinhart

Edmonton clicking on offense but Panthers defense is locking in. Bobby needs to find the puck, doesnt look the sharpest.
