Order restored. Who do we get to beat next week down south? W. Jeff or NI?

Coaches said NI. Anybody know anything about NISH? Thibodaux out athlete Zachary all night in the passing game, turning 5 yard crossing routes into 30 yards. But they forced a huge TO in the 4th and made them punt to open up the 2nd half and that was the ball game. Does NISH throw or run?

Anyone care to elaborate on this crazy mandeville/ Ehret ending?

Ehret never gave up on themselves when it would have been very easy to do after they lost the starting QB to injury. Couldn't get the running game cranked up in the 1st half. Defense gave up two long TD plays to give The Skippers a 14-0 lead.

But the back up QB, that also punted & kicked, comes in & stays pretty calm. He throws a deep pass to an athlete that made a great TD catch. The refs were letting the WR's & the DB's fight for balls out there. The defense gets a stop and we see an 80 yard drive that includes a desperation flip pass where the WR turned into Stretch Armstrong. Kid made a one-handed catch for a first down inside the five. D.Williams gets in the endzone to get within one point. We see the try for two & the win fail and think it's over. Then that back up QB kicks an onside kick & recovers it. He throws another deep ball and again a WR makes a great play for another TD. I probably left something out but it all went down pretty quick. It was one impressive effort.

Just watch out in Sicily Island. That's really the only place I always see a cop on the way to BR.

NISH is pretty good. Runner-up in 3-5A. They beat barbe and held Quinn to his lowest output of the year. Their only losses came against Acadiana and Breaux Bridge. They made a lot of mistakes in those games with turnovers. They are a running team mostly but they have athletes as well that they like to get the ball to in the open field with dump off passed and screens. If you have a good run defense then you have a shot. If not then it could get ugly. Their 2 RBs are pretty legit. The QB can run it too. It seems like their strength on defense is their DB's lead by Michael Sam. He's a good one. Hope this answers your question.

You will face a tough team in NISH. They have a very good running game. Their RB is really tough to bring down and their OL is good. Sam is a really good DB and their pass defense in general is good.

The Ehret scoring summery was

Darell Williams TD run with about 6 min left in 4th (14-7 M)

Ehret gets a stop and has the ball at their own 20 with 3 min left

Johnson (back up QB) throws a TD pass with about 45 sec left

Starting QB comes back in for the conversion try, D.Williams gets stuffed (14-13 M)

Johnson kicks inside kick, Ehret recovers 35 sec

Johnson runs for about 20 yds, Ehret has ball at 25 with 13 sec left

Johnson throws TD pass with 7 sec left, Ehret converts 2 point

21-14 Ehret

Dutchtown goes to Ehret next week. Should be a good game. Dutchtown has a good secondary. They always have a good secondary. But they can give up yards on the ground. Ask Catholic. Might be a tough matchup for them.

The winner of the Dutchtown/Ehret game would get a home game the week after against Destrehan. Barring a miracle.

D, fwiw until Williams went out for SL they ran pretty good on Barbe. If yall D can run with Quinn it should make an intresting game.

Catholic NI rolled. Northlake Christian is 11-0 but if CHSNI wins, it sets up the showdown l for them at home against Calvary.

A lot of people had Newman and Riverside making runs.

Guess that's why they play the games

I did not see anybody mention the blown call in the Mandeville - Ehret game

On the TD that brought Ehret to within 1. The WR for Ehret went out of bounds, he took 4 steps while out of bounds before making the catch. The showed it a few times on the TV broadcast and they showed the Ref watching the ball and not the WRs.

The announcers even commented how that TD should not have counted and it was not even close.

I hate when Refs blow a call that important.

Still give Erhet props for being able to get the win. Mandeville had plenty of opportunities to ice the game but could not.

It was my understanding that the Mandeville player touched the ball first which made the catch ok

I just rewatched the play and the Mandeville defender and the WR appear to touch the ball at the same time.

So it is not as bad as I thought but I still think the Ref had no clue he went out of bounds before hand

Did not the see the Ouachita/Hahnville game going that way. Did Hahnville have the game of their life or Ouachita not show up?

Why is Parkway playing @ East St John? Both had home games last week and Parkway is seeded higher.
