Brother Martin could easily play WM in the semifinals.

Crusaders would have to beat Carnecro this weekend, then get the winner of Dutchtown v. Covington.

Does the higher seed get the home game in every round?

I asked about Carencro last night, but got no answer.

not always.

Example.

#2 TeamA
#18 TeamB

#5 TeamC
#19 TeamD

If TeamA wins and TeamD wins, Team D has the home game next round because they didn't get a home game yet.

No

Higher seed gets home if everything is equal. Brother Martin would be at home against Dutchtown.

Stupidest rule EVER. You want a home game? Win more games.

Hard to win games if your in a 9 team district. Can't get no out of District easy wins.

There's no definite answer for this.

But Dutchtown went out of district and beat Lutcher, Parkview, and West Jeff. And they have to go on the road in the 2nd round because the 17 beat the 16? I don't think that's fair either.

your right, But I think it's a good way for kids to travel across the state. to view different cities.

plus atleast reward a school for making it to the playoffs by letting them have a chance to host a game.

Using the Dutchtown/West Monroe example:

What could really suck is that D-Town got the 1 seed and their bracket of 8 has no upsets.

But then there's an upset in West Monroe's side and they have to travel one week.

Dutchtown would have to have to go 4 hours to West Monroe because West Monroe played an extra road game. It's not like West Monroe didn't get 2 home games already? What's the benefit of being the higher seed there?

(that is how it works, right?)

Dutchtown won't get to WM, they are good but should have had 2 regular season loses (ESJ & HHS). They can't challenge WM, maybe STM or Acadiana can but I don't see any others beating the Rebels.

Here are the home team determinants straight from the LHSAA handbook:

15.18 DETERMINING THE HOME TEAM
15.18.1 Bi-District Round of Play
1. The higher seeded team shall be the home team.
2. If a first place representative draws a “bye” in the bi-district round, its regional game shall be a home game.
3. “Byes” shall count as a home game.

15.18.2 Regional Round of Play
1. First-place representatives that drew a “bye” in the bi-district round shall be home teams.
2. Teams that traveled in the bi-district round shall be the home team unless Rule 15.18.2.1 applies.
3. If both teams traveled or were home teams in the bi-district round, the higher seeded team shall be the home team.

15.18.3 Quarterfinal Round of Play
1. The team that traveled more times in the first two rounds shall be the home team.
2. If both teams traveled the same number of times in the first two rounds, the team that traveled last shall be the home team.
3. If teams traveled the same number of times in the first two rounds and both teams traveled or both were home teams in the regionals, the higher seeded team shall be the home team.

15.18.4 Semi-final Round of Play
1. The team that traveled more times in the first three rounds shall be the home team.
2. If both teams traveled the same number of times in the first three rounds, the team that traveled last shall be the home team.
3. If both teams traveled the same number of times in the first three rounds and both teams traveled or both were home teams in the quarterfinals, the higher seeded team shall be the home team.

15.18.5 Finals:
In odd years, the team on the top of the bracket shall be the home team and in even years the team on the bottom of the bracket shall be the home team in the Superdome Classic.

True...but they ended up pulling those games out. You never know come playoff time. I will say that based on what I saw from Dutchtown this year, they are one of the more vulnerable #1 seeds in a while. I think that both Carencro and Brother Martin could possibly upset the Griffins in the 2nd round and Higgins and Ponchatoula could both pose problems in the quarterfinals.

Dutchtown is hot and cold. I saw some of their games. If they play like they played against Lutcher, Destrehan, and St Amant, they could actually play with West Monroe. However, their games against Parkview and Hahnville were not impressive. I did not see their ESJ game, so I can't speak for that one.

You should be ecstatic if they have to travel in week 2. That would all but insure a home game with WM. You don't want to go to WM in the semifinals.

WM isn't going to fumble the ball 8 times this year with Turner in the game.

You bring this up everytime, knowing damn well they did not have 8 fumbles against acadiana

They actually only had 2 fumbles, 1 interception and acadiana had 1 turnover. WM DID turn it over on downs once and missed a field goal (if you want to consider those turnovers)

And to be quite honest the reason WM lost was not because of turnovers or bad calls, it was the coaches fault for not giving don brown (Fullback) the ball in the second half. 150 yards rushing in the 1st half and maybe 1 carry in the second, maybe even none.... Hell everyone knew shelby aulds was hurt. Why try passing it when your fullback is getting 8 yards a carry?

Don't believe me, here's proof:

The eye in the sky don't lie, WM just got outplayed. Plain and simple

Catholic lost alot of close games. Oliver has not been himself this season. If starts playing like he did last year, catholic is gonna be a dangerous team. Catholioc is 6-4 and could have won every game except STM. Pine Forest, Zachary and Central were all winable games that Catholic lost due in a big part to interceptions and injuries. Catholic lost both corners and one is hopefully coming back this week. All those counting Catholic out are making a big mistake, if St. Aug comes in thinking they will just run over catholic their season will come to an end saturday.

Catholic always has trouble with physical teams. St. Aug. is as physical as it comes. Their line will maul Catholic imo.
