2* Oregon -21.5

My bookie uses scoresandodds.com and doesn't take bets until two days before the game, and so I'm quite envious of that Oregon line you got. That's just Free Money.

Hell, -24 is Easy Money, but -21.5 is Free Money.

Yeah, I hit that as soon as it was available. I can still get -22 (-115), thinking about making it a 3* or 4* move. UVA's offense is terrible.

Everyone ITT is laying points on road favorites - home-field still matters a lot in CFB.

Personally, I'm taking points on a few home dogs this week since all the action seems to be going the other way.

Still like Oregon to roll - suspect the final score will be 38-7 or something like that.

A few dogs I like this week are Western Kentucky at +14, San Jose State at +27.5, and Washington State at +16.5

i really want to take oregon as they are one of my favorite teams to bet on and have been money for me the past few years, both on totals and spreads. However, laying over 3 td's on the road scares the shite out of me, especially with oregon travelling across the country.

chip kelly had a tendency to shut his team down in the second half when they had a huge lead, it will be interesting to see how helfrich handles things. oregon actually ran up the score against nicholls, as the ducks 3rd string qb threw a few passes downfield, one for a long touchdown late in the 4th quarter.

I haven't placed any bets this week yet, but I was looking at these lines. Any suggestions on these:

Oregon -22.5 (I kind of already know everyone's feeling on this one )
Illinois +8
LSU -34.5
Kent St. +7.5
Missouri -17
Oregon St. -27
Stanford -26
UTSA +26
Mich St. -23

I probably won't play all of these games. Maybe just 4-5 or so. Just trying to get other opinions on these specific games.

My theory is that HFA only matters when the home team is worth a shite. When you're dealing with teams that are dreadful at the game of football (a) there won't be much of a crowd, and (b) said crowd won't make said team undreadful.

I remember when Oregon travelled across the country to Knoxvile to take on the Vols in Neyland Stadium. Boy, did they ever have a tough time covering the spread.

Oh wait.

I like North Texas as well - Ohio is still licking it's wounds from the arse-kicking in Kentucky. I doubt they have much swagg right now and UNT can score.

I also like Navy +13 at Indiana. Navy could be the better team.

Illinois +8

The Big Ten kinda sucks and Illinois are projected to go 0-8 in it. Cinci is good. I'm big on Cinci this week.

quote:

LSU -34.5

I would never bet a game like this - LSU typically doesn't cover these (Towson), but UAB sucks. Stay away.

quote:

Kent St. +7.5

I kind of like it, this thread loves BGSU tho and I respect their opinion to some degree. Not sure if Kent's Dri Archer is playing or not tho... that might be important to look at before locking in.

quote:

Missouri -17

Not a fan. Toledo is a solid team.

quote:

Oregon St. -27

Staying away - Hawaii has athletes and that is big spread for a team licking its wounds after FCS loss.

quote:

Stanford -26

Another staying away - I like Stanford but SJSU has a good QB that could keep the chains moving.

quote:

UTSA +26

I like it! The Roadrunners aren't a bad team and OSU is kinda not sure what it wants to do offensively. Only a 1 unit bet for me tho.

quote:

Mich St. -23

A lot of people like USF on my Twitter feed - Michigan State's offense sucks (and I don't like laying too many points on a Big 10 team). I kinda think MSU covers for some weird reason tho. I'd stay away.

Nobody taking Florida at -3.5 against the U this weekend. I know that Florida is getting like 5 players back.

I am on Florida -3. They had a stout defense against Toledo and they get a lot of starters back that were out of that game. I think their defense is elite and that they will win this game.
