Why change the rules just to increase the odds of a triple crown winner. Horse racing has something special here with an achievement that a lot of America tunes in to every year to see if it happens. If it happens every two or three years then it becomes less of an accomplishment. It is set up right. Maybe not fair but right. If a horse ever does win the triple crown then it will be a bad arse sumbitch. This dude just mad because it wasn't him and it wasn't his horse.

Nothing needs adjustment. Let's roll this and tune in again next year.

But the Belmont is set up as take on all comers race, always has been always will be. That is why you have seen horses train just for it. It is not like this is a new thing.

I'm fine with that if they'll space the races out a little. Add 2 more weeks between each one.

I totally agree with him and his timing. I like that Costas asked the question. It should open up a great debate.

Just checked. Secretariat only ran against four other horses at Belmont. 5 horse race.

Only thing that I am even slightly open to is changing the timeframe and that is only because it has already changed multiple times.

You can't have those kind of restrictions on entering and expect the races to stay g1

But they give an extra week between the Preakness and Belmont. I know Europe the Triple Crown is run over basically 2 or 3 months not a month.

But this is what makes it such a feat.

Mark Richt has lost control of Cobern. And Costas.

Damn disappointing. Just glad I was around for the last three triple crowns.

Did have five across on Commissioner.

You are asking the wrong guy. I don't know anything about the sport. I was just watching while my brisket finishes up on the smoker.
