I had the thought that teams waiting out the Bryant situation might hurt donaldson's market but apparently multiple teams are willing to give Donaldson a 4th year right now so lol

Seems like once Donaldson signs the market for KB will heat up. So far the teams I've seen interested are:

Braves
Phillies
Nationals
Rangers
Dodgers (Depends on Lindor)

Dodgers and Braves are the two that really have the pieces that fit what the Cubs need I think

Agreed. That's why I hope Donaldson goes to the Rangers / Nationals. I think the Cubs are dead set on trading Bryant.

What are Cubs fans thinking the return for Bryant would be? The rumored Braves pieces are all over the place

This is what is being said from several different people.

Passan said on Russillo podcast this evening that the Braves are “zeroing in” on Arenado.

Rosenthal said this morning Braves are very concerned about Bryant’s defense and are not comfortable with the prospect cost associated with him.

I just think Bryant will be decidedly cheaper in both price to acquire and...price

And I cant get over my hesitation of that contract combined with him no longer being at coors

Yeah Arenado’s prospect cost would be astronomical but I guess the thinking would be they would rather pay huge cost for a player they love over a big cost for someone who they don’t like at all defensively.

good thing we don’t have any of those. Rangers quest for #80 wins engaged

Not necessarily considering Arenado’s contract.

As they need to be. Trying to acquire one from trade will be tough. Nationals don’t have a deep farm system so Robles would be an interested player that most teams would want in a trade and Nationals just aren’t going to move him.

The guy already should have won a gold glove and can get on base. His production + salary + years of control make him practically untradable. I just don’t see getting enough value in a trade giving him up.

Rangers gonna make a move on Castellanos, and Kris Bryant I would imagine. Still would need a catcher and more pitching help along with that. Lol.

Yay, now we will sign a few more low cost, past their prime, players.

Cubs sign Brandon Murrow to a minor league deal. The collection of project arms is apparently endless.
