Per Passan and Rosenthal Rangers are the favorite to finalize a deal for Kluber today.
They’ve done some damn fine things to strengthen that rotation. AL West is setting up to be a pretty deep division next season

Indians are so weird. Why do they sell or discuss selling every offseason when they are in the middle of a contention window.

If they want to re-sign Lindor, they won’t be able to re-sign Kluber and Bauer anyway. Might as well get some good prospects back for those guys instead of letting them leave for nothing.

Gibson, Lyles, Kluber pending to go with Lynn and Minor. I didn’t say it was gangbusters but that’s decent depth in the rotation. The bullpen is still shite, but every day they will be rolling out at worst an average MLB arm.

kluber has some interesting underlying numbers that suggest he can still be the 2018 kind of guy which would be huge for the rangers
i just dont like pitchers in their mid 30s, coming off a major injury, who were/are having trouble with command. it was only 35 innings and the stuff is still there so im willing to give him the benefit of the doubt going into the season, but the risk is definitely there for this not working for the rangers
