I do think he goes to Texas. Stras will stay in DC.

The rumor mill in DC is that he wants a shorter term but massive AAV deal as he doesn't want to play into his late 30's.

Nightengale is saying the Dodgers and white sox are discussing a joc and maeda trade. Dont even know what the price would be be for that as both are really effective at specific things

Anyway, joc is a 3 win player who only costs 8 million dollars. Dont see him being traded unless we actually get something

Wonder who the Dodgers would want back unless it is just about clearing some payroll to sign Rendon, Cole, or Strasburg

Dodger fans want it for kopech. White sox fans want it for a bullpen arm. Suffice to say one side will be disappointed if this happens

If it is a salary-related move you have to expect the meetings they've had over the last couple of days went well.

I guess. But we should have enough room right now to make a major signing regardless. I guess they could want more flexibility but I dont see how a trade like that gets made without a downs/gray type prospect and the white sox dont really have that

Giving up a platoon player (who I know you really like) and a guy who doesn't exactly have a set role and is unhappy? Saving essentiAlly 12 million.
155 million payroll puts y'all in play for 2 superstars. Maybe Cole (35) + Donaldson (25) which would make the Dodgers better. Unless injuries hit hard and Bellinger doesn't produce.

Joc is not worth that much

The Dodgers basically took on money while lowering their tax hit in the Puig deal and they sent Wood as well who was coming off several good seasons. I don’t see that same type of scenario with Chicago

Frankly I think Joc has more trade value than puig had last winter and I think hes a more valuable piece than wood but idk how woods extra year affects his trade value compared to joc this year

I think joc should bring a comparable prospect. Either someone like downs who was thought to be decent at most but not great at any one thing, or someone like gray who was an interesting potential guy

Especially if he gets paired with kenta

He certainly has more value than Puig. Eliminating the other players the Dodgers took Bailey on in that deal and sent Kemp out which was taking on like 8 mil, plus they sent 7 mil back to the Reds. They basically bought prospects of that caliber. You can’t really compare that trade to a straight up deal involving Pederson

Fair enough. Taking on bailey was definitely a part of that deal for the reds.

With that said, I'm personally not really interested in making a move like this but we will see
