What “inside sources” do you have for any of this or are you just talking out your arse?

More Rendon musings

quote:

Right-handers Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg accepted significant deferrals in their long-term deals with the Nationals, but third baseman Anthony Rendon was less keen on proceeding with such a structure, some with the club say.

The Washington Post reported in September that the Nats offered Rendon a seven-year deal in the $210 million-$215 million range with deferrals similar to Scherzer’s, to be paid within seven years of the end of the contract.

Players generally look at the totality of a deal, focusing on its present-day value. Deferrals lower the present-day value, and some players want their money sooner rather than later, reasoning they should get the chance to invest it, not the club.
The Nats remain more confident of re-signing Strasburg than Rendon.

First baseman Jesús Aguilar has been claimed by the Miami Marlins, sources tell ESPN. Aguilar was designated for assignment earlier this week by Tampa Bay. There's a clear path to the first-base job for him.

Per @Russellmania621, Stephen Strasburg met with the Dodgers last week, and is meeting with other west coast teams this week.

Reliever Blake Treinen has been non-tendered by the Oakland A's, a source tells ESPN.

Baltimore has traded second baseman Jonathan Villar to the Miami Marlins. On tender day, the Marlins have entirely remade the right side of their infield, with Villar and first baseman Jesús Aguilar.

Kevin Pillar non tendered by Giants
quote:

Addison Russell will presumably look for a more significant role, on a one-year deal. Orioles are looking for a middle infielder, and if he rebuilds his career swinging in the hitters' park in Baltimore, the Orioles would flip him for value, presumably. He turns 26 in January

Maikel Franco and César Hernández, #Phillies Opening Day starters in each of the last four seasons, were non-tendered by the team tonight. @MLBNetwork @MLB

D-Backs non tendered Souza, Joseph snd Taijuan Walker. Jake Lamb is tendered a contract.

Don't think anything is far fetched, who pegged Machado in SD at the start of last winter?
I just think the Nationals are the favorite, now if what Gyno says is true then obviously that is not the case.

@Buster_ESPN

Some high-ranking executives believe that the first big-dollar free agent who comes off the board will be Anthony Rendon, who has already met with teams. Rangers, Dodgers, Nationals, maybe others in play.
