Amazing analysis. Thanks for the contribution.

Well that's pretty much what it all boils down to

After-the-whistle shoving by other 7 teams left in playoffs: Clean

I think I got it now.
I'm just confused how the Bruins are the specific target of all this goon talk. Let's take a look around. Anaheim has almost DOUBLE the amount of penalty minutes Boston has in the same number of playoff games along with 8 misconducts. Are they a goon squad? Are they winning through cheating? There was constant bedlam after the whistle in the Dallas series, and that hasn't changed in the current series... Which team are they playing now?

The Kings play defense. The Bruins are a bunch of goons.
Oh, that's right. That team that plays defense. And is second in PIM in the playoffs. Yeeeah.

There's no tears. This is the way of the world and I accept that. I think its bad for the sport, but it was equally bad when the Devils turned interference not being enforced into a defensive system. Actually, that was worse, as it ushered in the Dead Puck Era. We're teetering on the brink of another Dead Puck Era (actually, we never really got out of the last one), and it's a slog to watch. I'll quote Brett Hull from 2001:
"The game sucks. It's boring. The whole style of the game is terrible. There's so much hooking and holding. When a guy like Mario Lemieux leaves the game and tells you why he's leaving and you don't address it, that's stupid."
And guess what? After all of the fans pretty much stopped watching, the NHL did do something about and actually enforced the rulebook for a year or two, but they are sliding back to that previous era of boring, ugly hockey.
Well, I do love Dale Hunter, but that was also a different era. And it's not like there was a real danger in the 1980s of there being no space (and I've never condoned his hit on Turgeon). The old goons have been largely drummed out of the game and I do miss those guys, as there was a certain code there. Now it's just stick fouls and clutching and grabbing. I liked the fights, I'd love for there to be a Tie Domi again, but we don't need a league full of Ulf Samuellsons.
I called them cheaters and goons BEFORE they won the title. And it's not about the Bruins franchise. I've got nothing against the B's all time. Cool logo, great history, and their ads with the snarky bear are great. I hated the Devils ruining hockey, too.
I care about the sport itself. I know this is a crazy concept and you can't quite grasp it, but I want what's good for hockey. There's nothing inherently wrong with a team winning multiple titles or a team being real good. (See the Red Wings) The problem is when the league allows a style of play that is horrible to watch and is actually against the rules, if the league ever bothered to enforce it, which they don't.

I get it. They've been the big dogs in the east for a while now and you're sick of them, but to jump to calling them cheaters is beyond moronic.

And unrelated, but what is up with all of the cup checks this postseason? Every f'n game has a guy hitting someone in the bait and tackle.
Yet the NHL is fining people for spraying water.

What's good for the NHL are ratings, and the Bruins bring 'em.
Bruins-Hawks last year was the highest rated finals since the 70's, and Bruins-Canucks game 7 in 2011 was the highest rated game since the 70's. Considering how bad they are for the sport, people sure do like to watch them. That rough "goonish" style appeals to casual fan more than your vision of some aborted "arena-league" NHL where every game ends with double-digit goals from both teams. Cry all you want. People like the physicality.

And yet the demise of hockey has not been found as you promised then. Wasn't the rest of the league supposed to start copy-catting them by now as you said then?

We don't have a rash of people hitting each other in the nuts? Isn't the Bruins aren't so bad defense that the Duck and Kings are worse? Hell, even Sidney Crosby is not slew footing people. Matt Cooke is still allowed to play.
Yes, the NHL not enforcing its rule is at epdimic levels because as the Bruins showed, you can get away with it. Teams ARE copy catting them. They just aren't as good.
The NHL gave up trying to enforce interference. They pretty much stopped calling it.

Typical Bruins fan, 404 error
The amount of no calls on interference really is bad. It's just hypocritical of the league to claim to be for player safety, create rules, and then ignore them / call them selectively.
I'll tell you what is bad for hockey, Boston's predictible racists creating a fiasco regarding Subban

It's been fun watching a Bruins fan try to defend his squad, but here are just a few fun facts for tonight's first game.
- Apparently Gary Bettman is deciding on whether or not to allow Dominic Moore to play tonight for receiving a spear to the nuts from Sidney Crosby. Apparently his nuts are made of kryptonite and has rendered Sidney Crosby useless for tonight's action.
- Pittsburgh is just 2-6 at home in Game 7s in franchise history, including losses to Montreal in 2010 and Tampa Bay three years ago.
- Evgeni Malkin has 13 points (6g, 7a) in 12 playoffs games this year.
- Jussi Jokinen has gone pointless the last two games after an eight game point streak.
- Paul Martin has been held pointless in this series after tallying eight points, all assists, in the first round against Columbus.
- Brandon Sutter has two goals in the last three games.
_ James Neal and Chris Kunitz have combined for just two goals in the series.
- The Penguins are 1-for-19 on the power play this series and have killed off two of the Rangers 24 power play opportunities against.
- Brooks Orpik is expected to miss his sixth game of the series.
- Henrik Lunqvists' water bottle will contain garlic tonight, hoping to keep that vampire Malkin at least 3 feet away from the net.

I'm of two minds on the Ducks. I hate Corey Perry, but like every other hockey fan alive, I love Teemu Selanne. I'm torn.

Interference is just too vague of a concept to ever be called consistently. They need to go back to the drawing board on that one.

And so far in this series, the team that scores first gets the W.

Jokinen scores, tie game. Pens are dominating this game other than the first couple of minutes of this period.
