Because they goon it up, and there's no reason for it. The Bruins are one of the most talented, skilled teams in the league, but they seem to take perverse pride in having their players go out and try and injure people.
I've seen this happen in my 39 years numerous times. Teams that goon it up can get away with it and play at a high level for a limited period of time. If you live by the sword, you're likely to die by it as well.
For example, it's not out of the question that in this series, the Canadiens wouldn't dress George Parros. In this scenario, it also wouldn't be out of the question for Parros to land a punch so hard that it caused a severe skull fracture to a guy like Lucic (it's happened before with Derrick Boogard and that dude from San Jose).
What is even more sickening is the NHL's inconsistency when it comes to doling out punishment to prevent that crap from happening.

Do you just use this same copypasta in every playoff thread every year? The league didn't implode when the Bruins won the cup years ago, and the league suddenly won't discard the stars of the future just because the Bruins like to play tough defense. Get off the soapbox.

Subban gives Habs 1-0 lead. 1st period.

Nice jailbreak for Montreal. 2-0.

Well, someone asked me a direct question. I answered. It didn't change. Hockey has gotten worse for the Bruins success.

Sure it has. And there seem to be a lot of people that agree with you. Hence the highest ratings for the Stanley Cup Finals in almost 20 years last season.

If the Bruins make the finals again I think it's bad for the game.
Need someone else, whether it's the Habs or Pens or Rangers.
Would like to see someone other than Chicago out West too.

Constant repeat winners are bad for any sport. But that's not the argument here.
Baloo's arguing that the Bruins are bad for the game not because they win, but that they win with defense.
I dunno. Maybe I've just been watching hockey long enough that I don't need to see a goal every 30 seconds to consider a game entertaining.

No, I have no problem with winning with defense. The Red Wings played outstanding defense during their run. I am criticizing gooning it up, and allowing people to clutch and grab. That's not good for the game. We're teetering on the verge of another dead puck era because teams keep pushing the line of legality and now everyone is allowed to interfere with impunity again.

Can you please define "gooning it up"? Boston was middle of the pack in penalty minutes this year.
Maybe I'm just missing why you're singling out the Bruins for clutching and grabbing, when it's something that EVERY good defensive team does. The NHL has made the rules on interference more offense-friendly after both of the lockouts. I find it hard to blame defensemen for doing anything and everything they can get away with to do their job. Most of what you say just sounds like whining about officiating.

Two appearances/one win in the Final in over twenty years and people are acting like it was the Habs in the 50's when they went TEN FINAL APPEARANCES IN ROW. Pretty sure the NHL survived that decade...

People have the Bruins almost as much as any other team, they don't need to be in the finals back to back years.
Habs need to win this shite.
Habs need to win this shite.
