Any playoff hockey game that is within one goal or tied is the best sports post-season action you're gonna find IMO.

Maybe soccer would be similar, but I just love the hits and the speed of play with hockey.

Unreal, it's been a great first round.

Not really, he's been solid, took a bad bounce on him and cost us. He's responded well to adversity already, those 2 quick goals in Game 3 were both AWFUL and he ended up with a great game to win. Shown he can put it past him already.

1) The first two CBJ goals in Game 3 were not "awful". They were definitely not good. You could say even a below average NHL goalie shouldn't allow them. But they weren't horrendous. The third goal tonight was awful. The fourth goal tonight was awful. Both the third and fourth CBJ goals tonight would be disappointing for a below average NCAA goalie to allow. The fact he allowed them could be a huge problem for Fleury mentally moving forward.

2) Those two goals in Game 3, despite being disappointing for Fleury, did not cost the Pens the game. Tonight's did. That could be a huge problem for Fleury mentally moving forward.

3) Those two goals in Game 3 were in the early part of the game. There was not much time to dwell on it and once he got back in the groove, he recovered nicely the rest of the game. He has three days to mull tonight over, face the media about it, etc. That could be a huge problem for Fleury mentally moving forward.

I'm not saying he's about to self-destruct. I have no idea. But Game 4 is much, much potentially damaging for him mentally than Game 3 was. We shall see.

Ehhh, don't put too much stock in one game.

Coming home helps, if it was another road game then sure. As a fan, CBJ is thinking that, and Pens fans are thinking he'l rebound well, just how that is.

The goal in OT is the one I'm pissed about, he was just so down from the tying goal he wasn't there, plus the atmosphere.

The 3rd goal I really can't crucify him that much. It was a dump in along the boards, any goalie comes out and slows it down or stops it. In that situation with 30 seconds left, never leave your fricking net. That being said you get what he was trying to do, slow it down/stop it for his Dman who clears it and the game is over. Instead, it bounces off the board and bounces off the ice over his stick. I can't crucify him for that, I get what he was thinking and trying to do. Hindsight is 20/20 and he shouldn't have the left net, had he corralled it and Martin cleared it down ice it was game.

The 4th goal is what had everyone fuming because he just flat out didn't stop a relatively easy shot.

Two days off coming home is beneficial IMO, gets to come home and the team will get a full practice in together which 1 day off they obviously don't practice. Being around your teammates and staff for a practice and correcting some things is a good thing.

I expect him to rebound well. That being said, he still has a better save percentage than Bobrovsky, goaltending hasn't been good on either side.

Regardless, I doubt MAF is the Pens goalie next year barring some crazy Cup winning run. If he is, the Pens will sign another solid backup/starter like a Halak, Hiller, Emery, Elliott type.

You are insane if you are trying to make the statement that Fluery is better than Bobrovski.

Save percentage? Look at the guys each goalie is playing against.

I finally get why M.A. Fluery is nicknamed the "flower". It's B/c he looks amazing until a certain point where he wilts and dies.

With what money?

The Pens only have 14 players signed and have $16 million in cap space. Next year is the last of MAF's $5 million/year deal, so they can dump him after that, but I don't see how they can sign Halak or Miller unless they are willing to take a sub million dollar deal.

The Pens have to re-sign or replace Stempniak, Sutter, Jokinen, Pyatt, Glass, Niskanen, Orpik, and Despres (plus a lot of the back end of their roster). They simply don't have the cap space to sign an elite goalie unless they want to take a huge pay cut.

Also, remember that last year, the Pens bounced back by putting Vokoun in there for the final games, and he was great. This year, if they go to the bench, its Jeff Zatkoff.

Which is to say, the Pens are stuck with Fleury for this year and the next.

Stop bringing facts into these arguments.

People gonna be breaking down the door trying to join the Pens, they'll take league minimum deals no doubt.

All right, who you got for tonight?

Boston / Detriot: I want the Wings to win but I think B's get this one.

Colorado / Minnesota: Avs.

San Jose / LA: Sharks

Really wish the Kings would drag out that series with SJ at least a little bit. That way when the Stars wrap their series up in Game 6, the Sharks haven't been resting for 5 days.

Pens will have plenty of cap space, cap goes up 7 million this year.

Orpik and Niskanen won't be back, Glass Vitale and those guys you mentioned make 1 million and less.

Those guys I mentioned will make about 3 million. (Elliott Emery Halak)

Easily enough.

Insane? Fleury has been better than Bob. And by a decent margin.

They're not resigning Sutter, they tried to trade him about 50 times at the deadline. He's restricted anyways, not unrestricted.

Jokinen is cheap and a natural center playing wing.
