I thought the option was next year as he signed 8 year deal two years ago after holdout.

The Habs lowballed Subban and they couldn't come to an agreement. They eventually settled on a 2 year deal with an AAV of $2.875m. He'll be an RFA this year. This move has backfired. He is going to get paaaaaaaaaid.

Oh, and boom. Series on.

He wont leave Montreal...Molson will throw the bank at him, especially after the last two play off runs and Olympics.

If the Stars are serious about contending: 8 years, $8.5 million AAV. He'll be 33 in the final year, and just leaving his prime. Force the Habs to match it.

And we have a series again. This new goalie is looking pretty good.

Looks like Montreal got even steven on the cheap shots last night. I always thought Prust was worthless. He was a pussy when Boyle got gangraped by Carkner and Neil in the playoffs two years ago and he wouldn't stand up, and he's a coward now with that late hit. Yeah, he won the fight afterwards but he's still an a-hole. Especially after calling Kreider dirty.

Great game last night though. Tough loss but we will get them next time.

at you including Phaneuf in that equation. Would love to see PK in Dallas, would be good for the growth of the sport. I think Montreal wanted to be careful. You can't trust a young defenseman to really pan out, you see it all the time where a young kid does well in his early years and then fizzles. The Rangers did the same thing with Del Zotto and it was the right move. He is good offensively, until he brings the puck offsides while playing the point on a power play.

It's going to be Tampa's Julian BriseBois, bringing him for his second interview next week, could be announced as early as late next week.

He's the clear frontrunner right now.

Interviews are done, 2nd round of interviews is next, he didn't interview.

Funny for a read though, the melt if he was actually in the running would be comical. Although some around the League actually think he'd be fine as a GM, but no thanks.

It would be hilarious. Obviously he is knowledgeable but I don't think he would negotiate well has no experience.

He would suck as a GM. Has Tortarella bought a house in Pittsburgh yet?
