Who is the greatest of the GOAT relative to dominance of their peers in their respective sport?

So Jackie Robinson is the GOAT of baseball?
Wayne Gretzky is probably the most dominant player of any sport.
His goal record, point record, and assist record will go untouched until the end of time.

Mario > Gretzky
As stated in the OP, I admit i know very little about hockey. What, IYO, makes Mario > Gretzky? How do they compare stat wise? Can you make a legitimate case that Mario, or anyone for that matter is/was better than Gretzky?

Much as i like Mario no way in hell this can be done...Wayner>the rest

Perhaps instead of using the term "undisputed", the above quote would have been a better way to approach this topic.

The situations are different and you know that, dick

The Babe is one of the best to ever play, but I will never call in the GOAT because he did not play against the best players. If segregation wasn't an issue and you had African American and Hispanics (from the Dominican Republic, etc.) playing and he still dominated, I would agree.

tiger leads jack in every meaningful stat except one. It's not really close when you consider how deep the fields are today.
You are right. The one that matters the most.............PLUS Jack has 19 2nd place finishes in Majors..Amazing..Tiger?? Not so much.......
Its STILL JACK>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Tiger......

Tiger has a higher winning percentage than Jack.
It's only a matter of time before he passes Jack in major wins.

I just don't see it.... Time is NOT on Tigers side.........

Higher winning percentage, more wins, more money titles, more POY's, more scoring titles, more wins in a year, more consecutive wins, more consecutive cuts made, fewer missed cuts by a mile, etc.

I would say Gretzky is probably the only undisputed GOAT but even though he is still touted as one of the best 3 or 4 players ever, Mario Lemieux could have possibly been better.
He was plagued by a congenital spine defect that caused him to play with pain his entire career, miss a ton of games from it, diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma yet despite that when he first retired had a higher per game point average.
Had he even been marginally more healthy, he would have had a legitimate shot at breaking or even shattering 99s points record.

Those numbers mean nothing to Tiger. His focus is on one number, 19.
And I agree with Peej. I'm not sure he's going to win 15, much less 19.
