it's definitely not Lebron (at this point), but Jordan is not an undisputed GOAT. espn and even the nba itself can say whatever they want, but the facts paint a picture that's not so black and white.

Wilt was way more dominant. Just look at the stats.

Orr has more crazy stats than Gretzky. Orr changed the game on defense.
A lot of people even argue that Lemuiex was better than gretzky.
Norris Trophy (Best Defenseman) 8 times in 9 years.
Rookie of the year
Won the scoring title twice. As a defenseman
Records for most points and assists in a season as a defenseman.
People who don't know hockey choose Gretzky

I still believe it's Jordan, but you won't get the agreement that you will with Gretzky.

Gretzky will always be the GOAT, he wasn't faster or bigger than anyone, he just knew the game and was amazing at it

You can throw golf in as well, but I'd think you'll have mixed results too. Nicklaus, Woods...

Bobby Orr changed how the NHL thought about defencemen, he led all scorers for a few years and was a consideration for GOAT, but Gretz is GOAT based on the number of years he played as the best player in the game. So many records, but there are a ton of things he did away from the puck that go unrecognized, also the fact that he was a penalty killer that scored so many SH goals can't be underscored...GOAT...

Barry Bonds is the GOAT of baseball.

Orr's career was cut short because of knee issues, I would take Paul Coffey over Orr...

No he doesn't. Granted he's a defenseman, so he shouldn't, but that's just not true.

N/A for Gretzky, and maybe it's just me, but I think winning the Hart 8 times in 8 years is more impressive than winning the Norris 8 times in 9 years.

Gretzky would have won the Calder, too, but he wasn't eligible due to his time in the WHA.

Gretzky has the record for most assists AND goals (so obviously points also) in both a season AND career of anyone. Again, hard to compare because Orr's a defenseman, but come on.

Absolutely moronic. Gretzky had FOUR seasons with more points than Lemieux's career high. He had two more with more points than Lemieux's second most season point total (and a third tied Lemieux's second highest). So Gretzky had SEVEN seasons with points >= to Lemieux's top two.

This is garbage. The NHL itself officially considers him the greatest of all time.
Like I said, the "hipster" or "cool" people will try to argue against Gretzky just to be different or to show how much they know about hockey when the dumb masses don't who just say "Gretzky!" Gretzky's easily the best of all time. Can't be argued.

Gretzky holds the records for most career regular season goals (894), assists (1,963), points (2,857), and hat tricks (50). The next closest player in total points for the regular season is sometime teammate Mark Messier at 1,887 - thus Gretzky had more career assists than any other player has total points. Dude was the GOAT.

I would say golf is a bigger sport than Soccer.
And if you want to say, "but worldwide" then I'll counter with, "golf is abigger sport than football"
So either way you need to take one out and replace it with golf.
And still I think you're right because Jack might be better than Tiger or vise versa.
