Awesome relative to what???… Mac been average… alright for a rookie… but even in that he pales in comparison to the top rookie QBs from the past couple years

Rookie QBs don’t come in and be average from the get go, especially not with trash receivers.

Herbert having the GOAT rookie QB season last year really warped expectations.

Chase is top 10 in receiving yards and top 5 in receiving TDs. Assuming he keeps that pace up, it would be a joke if he didn’t win it.

Such a blessing to get to witness the best team of all time

Obvious troll is obvious.

And 2020 wasn’t even the best Bama team
FFS 2018 (and19) had all those guys plus Juedy, Riggs, Tua, Hurts, Jacobs, Harris, 2 other 1st round OL and yet still got smoked by Clemson in 18 and 19 by LSU
At least you got Covid to take every one else out *champs

If you average his season out across 16 games he would have the 10th most rookie passing yards of all time, the 6th most rookie completions of all time (vs 13th in total attempts), number 1 all time in completion percentage for a rookie, 10th in YPA (ahead of Herbert and Andrew Lucks rookie season), 12th in Passing TDs all time, and 5th in passer rating all time.

He’s naturally going to end up higher on all those lists as well with the additional game, which again right or wrong, the voters will just see the raw numbers in comparison to others and vote on him for that. So again I’ll emphasize that while Chase has a great case, you are fooling yourself if you think they aren’t going to give it to Mac barring an epic late season collapse

He absolutely should be.

Because you make Jones look good you have to add “for a rookie”

And do make Chase look bad you have to cut out the first half of his season. He’s having an objectively great season for any WR not just a rookie.

The only reason Mac is in the conversation is because QB get to benefit from their team accomplishments.

Again, you’re quantifying

He’s good for a rookie

Chase is having an objectively good season.
For a rookie for a 10 year vet. Objectively good.

Chase hit the rookie wall while Jones has been getting better as the season goes on. Jones is the clear OROY.

Better not great

He had a great game 5 weeks ago

Last week he threw 3 total passes

This week he had 2 tds to 2 picks.

My post is relying directly to someone who said he’s having an average rookie season compared to recent rookies. I didn’t start the qualifying.

quote:

He’s good for a rookie

Again this is a weird thing to feel the need to specify for an award that goes solely to rookies

quote:

Chase is having an objectively good season.

Yes I already said that. I’m just telling you what’s going to happen. Objectively, they are going to give it to the QB.

In the past 7 games, Chase is averaging 40 yards and 0.5 tds per game
In his last 7 games Mac is averaging 198 yards and 1 td per game
198 yards per game would be good for 29th in the NFL……Does that scream average to you?

I’d say they are both kinda being pretty mediocre at best recently

Tbf, y’all were arse at the skill positions last year, much worse than 2019 or this year, he had no preseason, and his skill set is the polar opposite of what Belicheck wants from his quarterbacks so that was the ultimate Oil mixing with Water situation. That said, he did nothing to help his situation, but we all won with this:

There you go cherry picking again. What’s his Y/PA? TD%? Completion%? INT%? You know the important metrics.

I directly compared the stats your dumbasses were using to show chase had a “bad last 7 games”

Mac has also been less than impressive his last 7 games. He has

Anyway, Mac is 17th in passer rating, 18th in yards/g, 17th in tds, 17th in ints, 17th in td %, 19th in int %

Right at exactly mediocre. Anymore stats you would like?

Meanwhile chase is 9th in yards, 5th in tds, 3rd in yard per reception, 8th in yards per target

Right at great to elite

Not over the last 7 games. You’re cherry picking again.

The sooner you accept that Mac is winning the award because he is thus far the most deserving of the award, the better off you’ll be.

I mean he’s a rookie qb with trash receivers, probably the worst receiving corps in the league. What exactly do you expect? He’s playing far and away better than any other rookie QB and has stabilized that team.

I agree that he has trash WRs and is playing better than the other rookie QBs but he is on a better team with a legendary coach compared to the other rookie QBs. I think he is going to be a great QB but would he be in the conversation if he was playing on the Jags, Jets, or Bears?
