They are a small, transient, over saturated market
They are bigger than Portland and see 10 times (at least) the amount of tourists each year.

small corporate base.
Congrats on your hemp vegan IPA breweries and 47 tech start ups that will never have more than 10 employees. Vegas still is a significant better option than you.

They barely got the Raiders deal done
But they have it done. No team is even considering Portland. The Raiders never even talked to anyone from Oregon. The NHL never considered Portland for expansion. But in your mind that means that the A’s should ignore Vegas and come up to Portland because..... y’all have a damn curfew. GTFO.

Plus any Vegas ballpark will need to be dome/retractable, greatly escalating the costs.
Oh man what would a city that thrives on hospitality taxes do to help pay for a new baseball stadium? frick man I think you’ve convinced me!

Vegas or Nashville
Zero percent chance they stay in Oakland

It would certainly screw up the next TV deal for the Braves.
It'll still be massive but losing Charlotte or Nashville market will certainly put a dent in it.
I'm not sure there's any MLB team with a bigger regional fan base.

the montreal As has a ring to it
Montreal is in Play for the Rays
Apparently the Owner as of now intends to split time in Montreal and Tampa after 2027 unless they get a new stadium
Don’t think they will be in play for the A’s

Nashville is too hip for a MLB franchise.

What’s the regional dynamic between the Texas teams and Royals/Cardinals? Could OKC fit another one in, or too many?
I’m also thinking of Vegas in July when it’s 125 degrees outside.

OKC isn’t in play here. Vegas is the clear frontrunner, beyond them, I’d rank the contenders as follow with nominal separation:
Charlotte
Nashville
San Antonio
Orlando
Jacksonville
Charlotte
Nashville
San Antonio
Orlando
Jacksonville

Vegas bound as well.
Why not New Orleans bound?

You meant to say being expose for a return to Montreal to be the new Expos?

You mean the next Ashville Tourists?

Build a dome stadium!

Also take notice that Redskins are no longer being use! That is what happens when you look back and said what was I thinking?

Come on Oakland. Get it together. Athletics don't belong anywhere else.

Nashville is never going to get this team.
Love to see the cuckolds wish for it though.

Nashville will get a team at some point. Some are speculating it could be the Cleveland Indians. Rumors here have everybody nervous that Dolan is setting up the Tribe for relocation. He has done everything to sabotage the franchise. He gutted the payroll down to 35 million. He is changing the team name and colors. Meanwhile, Nashville has a stadium proposal that ANY team owner would listen to.

I can understand Las Vegas being a top target, but the simple fact that Portland AND Nashville both have stadium proposals already puts them close to the top for any expansion or relocation. Manfred has said MLB is exploring expansion. So at some point, its almost a sure thing that both Portland and Nashville will have a team, one way or another.

....and please, for the love of god, stop with the Montreal noise. MLB should have zero interest in moving to a city that has absolutely no passion for baseball. They don't have a stadium and most players would hate playing in a city that speaks French for cyring out loud. Montreal 2.0 is just dumb. If MLB wanted to go foreign, it would better serve their interests to expand into Latin America like Mexico City or San Juan...ya know, where they actually PLAY baseball.

Umm, the Diamondbacks play in a downtown, retractable roof stadium with air conditioning... just like Texas, Houston, Tampa Bay and Miami (now)
Um, Vegas already has one domed stadium and plenty of land in which they can build another. That said, I still think that an NBA team coming here first is much more likely.
