Portland A’s

They have a stadium proposal on the table. Please stop with Montreal. Why would the A’s move from one shitty stadium to another shitty stadium? Montreal as a MLB city is over. Las Vegas IMO, just isn’t ready to have 3 pro sports teams. It’s just not big enough. After Portland, I could see San Antonio or Sacramento, but please...stop with Montreal.

Portland is already ahead of everybody with plans for a stadium. Too easy of a relocation.

Oakland is just like New Orleans without the great restaurants, shopping and Bourbon Street.

I live close to Nashville, I would love to see an MLB team close by.

WORD! Plus we have the largest radio network in professional sports w/plenty of stations in TN and southern KY. A Nashville team would put a dent in that.

Cincy is 449 miles from Atlanta. Tampa is 456. So equidistant.

Maybe in terms of driving but not in a straight line.

Vegas is easily the top choice to move to followed by Charlotte. Portland has too many issues and Nashville is a joke for this and the Braves wouldn’t have it.

This city is nowhere near the national player this board makes it out to be.

Already has an NFL and NHL team... bigger metro area / media market than several current MLB cities.

No one thinks Nashville rivals New York, LA, or Chicago... but easily in the ballpark of Kansas City, Cincy, and Milwaukee.

Portland has less “issues” than Vegas. Portland is a top 25 market, but only one big 4 franchise. Summer weather is awesome in Portland, it would be a major success. Plus it would finally give the Mariners a true rival.

Those 3 have more of regional/statewide fan bases. Nashville is basically Atlanta mixed with Austin but much smaller and the biggest tourist crowd going to Nashville has zero interest in going to a MLB game. It’s too transient and doesn’t have the right sauce for MLB.

No it has significantly more. Demographics and culturally to start. Plus while it has a decent metro population, beyond that? Beavers don’t buy season tickets or merch. Orlando would make more sense than Portland and they aren’t even considering it.

It didn't happen because, according to Charlie O, the New Orleans group of investors was "All hat and no cattle."

Nonsense. You obviously know little about Portland. Great sports market. Plus great summer weather + stronger corporate scene than Vegas + more native / less transient population. It beats out Vegas in just about every (if not all) categories.

Yeah, the O's also tried to block any team from coming back into DC for years as well. It makes sense if you're the O's, but DC was way too large to not have a team for forever.

Not quite the same scenario considering the distances, but I wonder if the Braves will stifle any new team in Charlotte or Nashville for cutting into their Deep South fan base or if they won't care at all.

It’s northwest Austin. Please be honest with yourself.

They barely support a high a team out there. They are more of a soccer city, leave it at that.

Portland has two professional teams: Blazers and Timbers. Both franchises have had elite fan support their entire history. The Trailblazers have sold out every single game numerous seasons and the MLS Timbers are following suit.

How in the hell does Vegas have a better corporate scene than Portland? Outside gaming and Zappos, what else do they have? And how the hell does Vegas have better summer weather?

Be honest, you are an ignorant clown. I bet you never been to Portland or suburbs, which are nothing like Austin (or even Portland itself even). Portland is far and away the best landing spot outside of the Bay Area for the A’s. Vegas isn’t even a serious candidate.
