Odd to not claim the Devils but claim the jets and giants who play in east Rutherford and the islanders who are probably further from Manhattan than Newark

When did the Islanders fans start the 1940 chant? Their drought is moving into that territory.

Jets and Giants represent the NYC metro as a whole. Devils are in the NYC metro but in my opinion really only represent New Jersey.
Islanders are a bit more interesting as they represent “Long Island” more than “NYC” I’d say, but they probably could be counted as a team whose base extends into Queens and even Brooklyn a bit.

The Islanders played in Brooklyn for a few years and now play directly across the Queens County line in Belmont. Still predominantly Rangers fans in the two Long Island boroughs and among some olds in Nassau and Suffolk Counties, but yes the Islanders fan base does extend into the city and even north into Connecticut.

Been a long drought, but Islanders fans have been beating their chests more than Rangers fans in the last year. At least they have Schaefer while the Rangers suck and are rudderless.

The United States of America is literally hosting the biggest sporting event in the world and guess what sport it is? Take a lap.

But the NWSL isn't soccer.

I’m from New York jabroni. NYCFC’s fanbase moved to Williamsburg from the midwest in 2015. Artificial just like their daddy Man City. Stay in your lane and take a lap.
