re: Not much buzz for the National Championship

I forgot about it until reading some posts here.
It’s pushed too far out. It needs to start sooner after the season closer to what the FCS does and finish closer to when semifinals took place.
Conference championships would likely have to go away as then teams not good enough to play in conference championship but still in top 12 final selections could be rewarded with a week off against any losers in conference championship games that also still make the playoffs.
Regardless I think they should do away with these super conference championship games or go back to divisions even if only playing 1 team or even zero teams from other division. At least before in the SEC the Western representative played every other western team, and the eastern rep played every other team in the east. There could still be advantages if one plays a weaker team or in the past played multiple weaker teams from other division (divisions make more sense as games against other division lowers in qty), but stacking teams based on very different SEC schedules makes less sense. A committee picking the top 2 teams to play for conference championship almost makes as much sense as basing it only on conference record which in a way proves current set up is flawed.

The playoffs are too long and there’s too much time between rounds. Quite frankly, I forgot the final game was tomorrow
It's like, I forget who won the Natty, then realize, the Natty hasn't been played yet. That and everyone knows/thinks Ohio State wins easily. I do not care who wins; I'll check the score, but I will not be watching. I did watch the first half of the OSU-Texas game, but that's all I've watched.

Fricking Greg McElroy just said if Notre Dame wins, then Marcus Freeman will be the face of College Football just as Nick Saban was. Booger McFarland did too.
These people are retarded. Saban went to 10+ Natis and won 7. How big of a retard do you have to be to call 1 potential Nati as the face of college football like Saban was. McElroy needs to get hazed for that.

the champion needs to be crowned before spring semester stars at universities, end of discussion.
starting the season earlier makes more sense than it does stretching the season out this far.

I honestly forgot it was today

Well, Freeman would be the most likeable big time coach since Saban. Day, Smart, and Dabo are all massive unlikable dorks.

And Saban wasn't an unlikable dick? He was more than all of them besides maybe, maybe Dabo.
Marcus Freeman wouldn't be the face of college football unless he won 3 to 4 straight nati's. The term "face of college football" before he has even won a Nati vs a 70th ranked regular season SOS.
There is no face of college football today or even if Freeman won today, really the whole movement changes is the face today. Not an individual, but the whole thing itself.

Notre Dame's quarterback Riley Leonard is a local kid from where I'm from. I'm rooting for him but beyond that I don't really care what happens and that's even a stretch. Just to root for him because he's from fairhope which is on the other side of the Bay.
If this game starts to get out of hand early, it'll be very easy to turn the tube off.

Haha people don’t like Day because he likely dyes his beard and thought his team should have been #1 in 2019 going into the playoffs
Guy is loved by his players and does so much good for the community

And Day does a ton to promote mental health as he lost his dad at a young age.
It's just about time to start drinking! Go Bucks!

I like what I’m seeing from this years osu team. Been seeing a lot of reels and stories about the teams faith. I don’t think Day is a good coach, but I have more respect for the class Osu players and staff have shown this season.

Live here in city of Atlanta. I’ve seen one person wearing a ND shirt in the last week. Nobody talking about there being a game tonight. Was all over eastside of city this past weekend. Didn’t see a single Ohio State hat, shirt, or jersey. This isn’t normal.

Is this the Official "Let's all pretend that nobody cares about the Title Game since we aren't in it" Cope Thread ?

I can’t take a #7 vs a #8 seriously for a title game. Neither one deserve a title after losing to a MAC school and 2 conference teams

And yet they beat all 3 SEC playoff teams by 25, 13, 14....
I guess that doesn't say much for the SEC

Who is a good coach at this point?
Kirby smart lost 3 games this year and is like 1-6 against Bama. He’s the standard of the sport right now.
Only Smart and Dabo have titles as of now. Someone joins them tonight
