Depends on how you define “buzz”. Quick look at Stubhub - nose bleed tickets are $2500 per ticket. Lower levels up to $8k per ticket. That’s insane.

I have no doubt that ND and OSU fans are jacked up and willing to pay big money to go to the game.

Legit forgot about it until someone texted in a group text earlier saying something to the effect of “dang national title game is tomorrow night right?”

Dude, the SEC folks here are working hard to convince themselves that nobody is going to watch this game, that nobody cares.
You pointing out that it's the most expensive ticket in history isn't helping with their cope.

If the two biggest brands in college football can't generate big numbers maybe don't play the natty this close February.

I’m pretty confident the ratings will be massive

I really believe that most casual fans think this will be a rout…

Coping with what ?
Ohio State annihilating their playoff competition by 20 points a game ?

Ohio State vs Notre Dame.
Arguably the two biggest brands in College Football.
But yeah, nobody is going to watch.
So you're still in the denial phase ? or is it the anger phase ?
honestly it's not a regional thing for me.

It's NFL playoff time now. Like somebody said already, it's following the Bills-Ravens game, and quality won't be close

I’d be more inclined to watch a Skatterboo vs Jeanty matchup but I’m not much of a football fan anymore. If not for this board or work talk I wouldn’t know who’s playing.

I’ve been caught by surprise by the 1R, the SF rounds and the NC. There’s so much time between rounds it’s hard to figure out when the games are happening.

I also think having the 7 & 8 seeds in the title game is a little deflating. While I think ND would be in whether the format is 4 or 8 teams, I’m not sure OSU gets in either of those formats with 2 losses if a smaller 8 team format requires all 4 major conference champs and the highest ranked G5 team.

Thats why I don’t like this format. OSU loses to a 5-loss Michigan team at home on the last game of the season, sits home for the B10 Champ because of that loss, and gets rewarded with a home game? No doubt, they’re the hot team right now, but that’s why I hate large playoff formats. A team can get hot on a favorable draw and win it all despite choking in the most important games on their schedule.

This is a college football message board. Of course we are watching.

That doesnt mean there isnt a lack of buzz.

Trust us. outside of yalls circles its insanely quiet

All of this.

Not sure why that Buckeye poster is screeching about "cope". Two rounds of the NFL playoffs will have been completed between the CFP semis and national championship game. That's an eternity in the modern media world.

College football fans will still watch, and I'm sure ratings will be strong, but the hype/build-up for the game has been very subdued compared to previous years.

This and it's two teams from the same area of the country that nobody outside of their fanbases really cares about watching all that much.

This is a horrible take, these are two all time programs and national brands with massive fan bases.

The main problem has already been mentioned.... The schedule. the season is way too long now

I will watch for sure and I'm hopeful it will be a close game.
