Looks great. Took forever I feel like they were starting this during 2020

Looks like a soccer stadium. It’s a cool look and makes everything seem cozier. Great verticality of it too.

Now do I want all stadiums looking like this, no. I love stadium diversity. But this looks awesome

First thing I thought, looks just like it’s used for soccer. Not an insult either.

Did they say during the broadcast how many it seats?

It seats 35K. Student section has no seats and is standing only. Every seat is close to the field. It’s built for intimacy and noise. Very smart by a mid level program with a small fanbase. And if they get really good like Indiana they can easily move the big games to Soldier Field.

Couldn't agree more. It looks awesome in some of the overhead shots. NW has played impressively well these past 2 weeks. I hoped they're ranked after this arse kicking.

Another aspect of the soccer stadium like design.

I watch YouTube videos about ranking stadiums and I notice all of the euro stadiums look huge but are seating 20-30k less than you’d think

I was thinking 35,000.seats was way too small. Watching the game with all the empty seats. Not a good look.

Wow it looked bigger than that.

Thanks for the answer.

This sounds incredibly dumb to me. This is how you get students to leave the game early. Who wants to stand for 3.5 hours?

It looks nice but 35K sears for a power 4 team is pathetic

They asked the students and that is what they wanted.

ETA: the Iowa student section never sits down. Not sure how it is down at LSU.

Northwestern has such an interesting student body. It’s like Vanderbilt on crack.

Evanston is just not a good tailgate/nightlife. Which can’t help.

Absolute beautiful campus though and just quick purple line ride into the city.

I mean, every student section generally stands for most of the game.

In college, the only time we ever sat down was during tv timeouts

Let's be real though, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, etc. are a close enough drive that their fans would take over old Ryan Field. That and there are a ton of Big Ten alumni in Chicago.

Fersure. Helps when Pat Ryan is worth $9B and has a shite ton of influence in IL politics.

Funny enough, he and Goodell have appeared to have taken over the Bears stadium process and kicked Warren to the curb.

And they seem like they are also investing on NIL/players on the field

Makes me feel somewhat optimistic about the swamp reno now
