Pretty much becomes a lock for the 1st tourney appearance in their school's history. They are the only team in a major conference who has never made the NCAA Tourney.
Incredible job by Chris Collins and a really cool moment for the school.

Have any other current P5 basketball teams never made it besides them?

Happy for them, love Collins

They deserved that after how the Indiana game ended.

Nope, only Northwestern. In fact, every P5 school other than Northwestern has made the tournament at least once since 2003. The longest drought for a P5 school is currently at TCU and their appearance in 1998, followed by Auburn and their last appearance in 2003.

Rutgers hasn't gone since 91.

I'm not even mad.
Very good for Northwestern.
I didn't know they had never been. THat's incredible, really.
They've been bubble-caliber before but I guess kept on falling short.

I think I saw Rutgers' drought is since 1991.
Ahh, I must have skipped them. You're correct.
