Sounds like he passed away according to David Diehl:

Holy shite. That's awful.

ETA: As a side note, does anyone else find it really weird and annoying when someone capitalizes the first letter of every word of a tweet/post? You have to actively try to do that; autocorrect doesn't do that for you.

if it is in fact Markus Paul... he was drafted out of Syracuse in 1989 by the Chicago Bears and played for the Bears & Bucs in a 4-year career

He started his NFL coaching with the Saints in 1998 in strength & conditioning and was in New Orleans for 2 of the Ditka years

He has been with the Patriots, Jets, Giants, & obviously currently with the Cowboys

Sad. Looks like he enjoyed even helping the average Joe at home.

Doesn’t Brett Bech still work for the Cowboys in their Strength and Conditioning Group??? What a horrible day for all involved. RIP Mr Paul.

Former New York Giants assistant strength and conditioning coach, Markus Paul, passed away on Monday. He was 54 years old.

Paul, a fourth-round pick of the Chicago Bears in the 1989 NFL Draft, had a six-year career that also included a brief stop with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before he broke into coaching in 1998.

Over the course of the previous two-plus decades, Paul spent time serving on the strength and conditioning staff for the New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, New York Jets and, most recently, the Dallas Cowboys in addition to his time with the Giants.

So David Diehl deleted his tweet about Paul and the Cowboys just released this press release:

Doesn't sound like he's dead according to that

This is weird though because they send that out, yet La'el Collins posted this some 45 minutes ago:

Unless the "more tests" in the press release is just to determine the exact cause of death

Just beyond weird right now

Yeah...I'm baffled. Maybe the Cowboys are covering their legal bases? Strange.

They like to notify the family before announcing it via Twitter so they don’t find out via the media. Thus the, more will come out when appropriate, not when they know more.

Generally, I'd chalk it up to that as well....but the family being aware of the situation is mentioned in the press release.

Ultimately it doesn't matter I suppose. Hopefully the players were given bad information and the initial reports were incorrect.
