How come the supposed best player for 10 years only has 3 rings?
The Lakers had 5 HOFers in a 3 years span in the mid-80's: Magic, Kareem, Worthy, McAdoo, and Wilkes. They won 1 championship in those 3 years.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Now this is just some hater biased narrative you're spouting. The mavs series is a blimish. But spurs '14, get out of here with that bullshite. Lebron played great. Only a fool would talk shite about lebron in that series when they lost due to his teammates playing like shite, mainly dwade running on fumes.

Know how I know you didn't watch that series? LEbron was fantastic in that series, you're really lacking here.

I just want to make sure I understand your logic, because it's batshit crazy, so confirm for me:

Lebron was too scared to do the Slam Dunk Contest, but not too scared to drop 37 points in game 7 of the NBA Finals to beat the Spurs, and also put on the best 3 game stretch we may have ever seen in the Finals to come back and beat the most successful team in the history of the NBA"s regular season?

If you need a sec to reread the above paragraph and change your stance, I'll allow it. If not, prayers sent.

Bird, Jordan, and Lebron. That's the top 3 without an ounce of doubt.

I want Bird in his prime if I need to win one game. Most of you have no true idea how good Bird was. He didn't have nearly the depth of teammates that Magic had nor the coaching that Magic and Jordan had. Bird is easily the most versatile basketball player ever rebounding, passing, dribbling, shooting, and 3pt shooting.

I want Jordan if I need one season or one playoff season

I'd probably take Lebron or Shaq if I had to build a franchise. Most people overlook strength and durability as key factors in determining greatness.

OK maybe I am wrong. Why didn't he compete?

Lol...Dirk and the Mavs made "The King" their bitch.

That was epic.

The "Lord of No Rings" memes were spectacular.

LeBron averaged 28.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.0 steals in the 2014 finals.

He had the highest average game score (22.5) which was 6.7 higher than Kawhi, the highest on the Spurs and the MVP, and 11.9 points higher than Bosh, the 2nd highest on the Heat.

LeBron was the best player in that series, so it's evident you either didn't watch it or are incapable of actually evaluating performance, and therefore, your OP is grounded in that same incapability.

He averaged 28/8/4 while shooting 57% from the field and 51% from 3 in the 2014 finals. Wouldn't be the series I'd pick to call him a bum.

Maybe he didn't want to. If you're holding not competing in the dunk contest against him, that means the gap between him and Jordan is significantly smaller than you want to admit.

I'm pretty sure eviscerating a 73 win team in three straight games to win the Finals sort of makes that a moot point. That Golden State team was better than anyone Jordan had to beat in the Finals.

I actually like Lebron more than I ever liked Jordan and the Bulls....but MJ is GOAT, and barring an epic run by Lebron...nothing will change that.

Well we should have known better when he started talking about Russell's desire, hunger, and killer mentality.

Apparently neither statistics nor watching the games are necessary to make conclusions. Just look up the NBA finals history; that's enough.

I have a hard time believing this considering you've done nothing but shite on LeBron and act like what he has done in his career is worth absolutely nothing.

Is that how you determine how well 1 player played?

This is sooooooo bad.

You're basically saying the best player on the floor can literally NEVER lose a basketball game or series. Good luck with that.

That GS team was and is soft.

And even softer after the bullshite suspension of Draymond...which was essential for Lebronnie to get his way.

That being said...Lebron was unreal during those Finals. No doubt.

But he's no MJ.

Russel was probably the closest to Jordan in terms of desire, hunger, killer mentality. No his numbers aren't what makes him great. It is all the things that numbers can't measure. Leadership, will to win, foundation of a defense. All at a time when his color worked against him. I mean he coached and played at the same time and won championships.

Translation: Russell was a good/great player on stacked teams in league largely devoid of talent.

Jordan, nothing can be said for him that isn't known. He did everything the right way. He answered all challenges and conquered all before him...

People act like Jordan took four scrubs from a men's rec league and single-handedly won those titles. Jordan won bupkis until Pippen, Grant, Cartwright, Paxton, et al arrived. Was Michael a great player? Of course. But this hagiography of him that he is magnitudes greater than any other player is laughable.
I've wondered what would have happened if 'Nique ended up on the Bulls and MJ languished on a terrible Hawks franchise. What would the prevailing wisdom be now?

They won one game, but LeBron played great, his teammates looked like they may have forgotten how to play basketball, and the Spurs played the most amazing basketball I've ever seen.

But to hold that against LeBron is evidence that you didn't watch it, or the conversation is too complex for the reasoning you're using.

How many games did the Lakers win against Detroit in 2004? (Hint: it's the same number)

Guess that means Shaq and Kobe suck, too.
