No way in hell a # 1 seed from back in the day would be down 40 at halftime….

Indy is 12/18 from 3 in the first half. Nobody would've shot 12 3s in the first half back in the day.

I made a post back in March with the below picture in regards to the Cavs and got downvoted to hell and back. They are the 2015 Hawks reincarnate, they were never going to make any noise. It takes more than just Donovan Mitchell, who is a B+ star to win a title, you need at least one A+ star and that’s been proven.

They are one B+ and a bunch of B- or C+ players in today’s NBA.

Lakers lost Game 1 of the 1985 Finals by 34 pts and almost allowed 150 pts to the Celtics.

Lakers won the series in 6.

That was in the Finals on the road and the Celtics had a great team that finished with the best record in basketball. Not quite the same thing as being down 41 at the half to the Pacers in the second round.

The Finals is the best of the best so it's worse if they get blown out than an injured team that's about to go out meekly in the 2nd rd.

You guys are listing final scores…do you realize how hard it is to trail by FOURTY after just 24 minutes of basketball? It’s actually quite impressive…

Warriors lost to the grizzlies by like 50 points 3 years ago and went on to win the championship. With the way the 3 ball is shot now, there will be more games like this.

The Timberwolves and Nuggets took turns beating each other by 30 in the playoffs last year.

With today's reliance on the 3-point shot, these blowouts happen more often now. When one team is hot, and the other team isn't, teams get off to an early lead. Once behind, teams tend to start taking even more low-percentage 3s in an attempt to come back, but this digs them in the hole even deeper.

The Pacers are a legit team. The Cavs were just another really good regular season team, that was never a threat to win it all.

I'm not DV because I've never at any point thought the Cavs were going to even make the finals, much less win. But, just to play devils advocate to this point, it can be done.

The Pistons did it without a superstar. Also, the Spurs final championship could probably qualify. Duncan and Parker were both past their prime and Kawhi was not near it. I don't think they had a player that was even in the top 10 in MVP voting.

Both of those are two that come to mind that won based on team depth and not true superstar play.

Why does this have 11 upvotes? You’re acting like that Hawks team lost to the wizards and not LeBron.

So they cut it to 20, isn’t that better than losing a full game by 42?
