After this thread, I hope Bama never wins another game. Ever .

of course, why would anyone want both sides to have a chance to tell their story to an impartial jury and let them decide?

1. If the prosecutor doesn't even think it's worth an indictment, it'd be a waste of the jury's time and the public's money just to put on a show trial for you and Nancy Grace to jill-off to.
2. The accuser (potential victim) and the accused (potential victim) should be granted the same privacy rights in a he-said/she-said situation without any clearly damning evidence or reason to believe that the accused is really a danger to society.

Wrong, if one of my daughters or sister is saying she has been raped and wishes to press charges against the man who did it and their lawyer feels it is a case he can win then regardless of what anyone says, they should be given their day in court to try and prove their case. If the accused is innocent it would be shown in court.

Her lawyer can sue in civil court. Her lawyer cannot force the state to bring a case.

what if you knew your child was lying?

obviously that is not the case here or her lawyer would have advised her to drop the charges long ago. No one is claiming he is guilty. Only that if the girl says it happened to her, she should be given a chance to prove it in court.

So the only threshold for any man walking the street to find himself criminally indicted, publically defamed, professionally ruined, and financially bankrupted is evidence of:
1. Sexual contact
2. Someone's daughter making an accusation.
There shouldn't even be an investigation for evidence of actual trauma, coercion, drugging, or anything else? Just someone's little princess claiming that her maidenly virtue had been violated (all the girls in these he-said/she-saids tend to be on the pure side, which is why they don't mind people looking into their own past behaviors, am I right)?

The kid stands about a 30-50% of being a multimillionaire within the next 5-10 years. You better believe that weighed into the decision.

If the evidence doesn't even warrant a fricking indictment, it WON'T BE PROVEN IN COURT. How daft are you?

Well, according to TPD that is what happened. They say that her attorney said she no longer wanted to press charges back in February.
Of course, the attorney says that never happened.

So DNA and her saying it happened is not enough evidence for her to have her say in court.
So you admit that if he were an ordinary "joe" this would have been handled differently. Damn right it would. In high school after a night of party, one of the guys there was accused of rape the next morning. He was arrested that day at school. No year of bungling around try to decide if they should charge him or not. He was told, " tell it to the judge, let the jury decide"

I disagree, I'll say this if a women says she was rapped than it should never be ignored some investigation should happen. But if the police come to realize that she wasn't rapped and she was just trying to get back at her BF or some guy on a one night stand that shouldn't go to court.
This is the same kind of crap that happened during the GZ case. GZ killed a black man he should have to prove himself innocent in court even if all the evidence points to self defense still make him go to court.
If every single accusation had to go to court it would take years for someone to have their day in court.
If police believe there is evidence that points to a crime than charge the guy but if there is no evidence drop the case.

they never said she didn't want to press charges. Only said they didn't want it too go public.

Dear god, please make it stop

She didn't identify him for a month.

you mean the Tallahassee police? I'm sure they've all been through law school, right? Just saying, she says it happened, she has DNA as evidence that it happened. And he has what? Two of his buddies that say it didn't happen? And that's enough for the DA to decide to not press charges?
Unless she has came back and said she made it all up, or mysteriously found several stuffed envelopes on her front porch and decided to not press charges, she should get her day in court.
