C'mon. I ask again. Would they really do it soley for the fact he COULD be a good QB?
No. But they could have done it solely based on the fact he was on the football team.

Exactly! This was a shorter version of what I had posted. The moment it comes up that ANY offender, in a given city where football is king, is a player...that's a game changer. Whether it's fandom or an unwritten directive from the higher ups, whatever...in a scenario such as the one I posed it's completely plausible that the treatment for a football player is different at a minimum. I'm also NOT singling out FSU/Tallahassee either, they are just the easiest example to use now.

Bama fans are absolutely frightened of the prospects of facing FSU in the title game if Winston plays.
Actually, as a Bama fan I am frightened by the prospect of playing FSU WITHOUT JW. Are you not familiar with the incessant carping Alabama fans heard for the longest after Colt McCoy was TKO'd in 2009? We'd never hear the end of beating FSU without JW nor if FSU was aced out of playing in the title game by OSU slipping in with this scandal still hanging out there.

Dude is afraid of Winston just like no one was afraid of JFF
quote:Not sure who that even isvbut I know neither are better than Winston.
EG, CM
quote:And Bama fans are doing the same exact thing in this very thread.
The point is that FSU fans are being so fricking one sided on this it is sickening and its just because he is their one hope.
quote:And if this story was about AJ McCarron, this board would be littered with Bama fans doing the same thing as FSU fans. You know that's true.
Like I and many others have stated, if he were just some random black student then the vast majority of same white FSU fans defending Winston to no end would be ready to crucify the random student and drag him through the mud like they have done this young lady. This is what is truly sad, but if you try to reason with any of them they pick and construe every thing to favor their argument of defense

Might be more Missouri/OSU/etc fans posting more than normal in this thread.

We'll find out if the ones who were truly concerned about the case if they keep posting in this thread.

Raises hand! I've maintained all along that to me this case was about the football impact in general and the newsworthiness of the story, especially for those of us who are locals in the Birmingham area for the connections JW had here. What unfortunate happenings for Alabama last night doesn't lessen my interest. I'd like to see what happens and if there was a victim, I definitely want to see justice regardless of what team I root for. Some things are simply more important than football...not much though, LOL!

No too much football left to be played.

FSU fans I work with still stand by and say he is completely innocent, and there are tons of facts clearing him

Knew I hadn't seen this thread in a while and was coming to find it to see if anything was new.
I still maintain that whatever happens, I hope the truth comes out.

I'll be here.
This incident is much more interesting to me because I'm a Tallahassee native and know some of the people involved personally. Has nothing to do with football for me.
Found out this weekend my mom knows the detective's (the one who allegedly told the girl that her life would be hell) mom.
They are both past president's of the Extra Point Club. That's FSU's female booster organization, equivalent to the male Touchdown Club.

Woah.
Do you mean Charges dropped..
Or "We'll know if there are charges"
Just curious.
Wow....Your mom knows the detective? Interesting time for you and your family.

I was being sarcastic and making fun of the multiple times FSU fans have posted that Winston was to be cleared only to be proven wrong over and over.
My mom knows the detective's mom - they are both past presidents of the female FSU football booster club.
His mom didn't tell my mom much, just that he has been advised by the higher ups and others - maybe his union rep? - to shut up and lay low.
