Rosenthal will be a hell of an 8th inning guy next season

Oh yes, it has gotten so mature at the end of this season. The offense looks okay for now. I still think we need another SP...But that's just me.

But what about the starting pitching??? We're going to lose Lohse who was outstanding this year. Wainwright might not regain form and his injury issues, Carp is old and his injury issues, Garcia is hurt right now so he'll have injury issues, same goes for Westbrook, and Lynn who had a good 1st half of the season could pitch a game in the 2nd half without getting hammered in the first couple innings. I'm seriously worried about the starting pitching for next year.

Yea. The whole Garcia thing has me wondering as well. I mean, how can you count on this guy as a #3 next year? Is either Miller or Kelly ready to step up? Westbrook is not a #3. Martinez might be a wild card for the rotation next year as well.

Exactly, I am not saying we need to go out and get a #1 or #2 guy. We need a solid #3 guy.

I don't know...I never count out the Cardinals, but maybe it's not in the cards for us this year.

Way to take pitches Yadi! Damn damn damn why oh why do you see a guy struggling to throw a strike you got the bases loaded in a 2-0 count and you swing when you've been struggling all series and the guy behind you is hitting .400 +

There are no good answers and only more questions.

The irony is we need to find a solid 3 but we are letting Lohse walk. I understand the financials and his history but he IS the 2nd best starter in FA next year. That just tells me its going to be time for the young arms the cards have drafted to step up and earn their keep.

I think Matheny is making another mistake by pinch hitting for Rosenthal
