Saban visiting with 2020 safety Malachi Moore Saturday. Dude will do anything to sway a kid...even if he has to make a fool of himself. You know he hates doing this.

Former LSU player told me that when Saban recruited/visited him at his house, he was there 7 or 8 hours.

Long winded SOB.

It’s like being a salesman. Even though you know the people don’t want it, you still give it your all.

Well...

It is his job - the only job he's ever had, so I'm sure he's used to it by now. And pretty damn good at it.

And if you look at the Twitter account, the party seems to be at his home as the recruit's mom references being at the Sabans. His wife is shown dancing, too.

And the recruit and his family LOVE Saban. He's the "GOAT" according to the mom. He certainly is to the rest of the college football world of the past generation.

But, if you call having fun, scoring big-time recruits to restock his team, and continuing to be the GOAT, then yeah, I guess Saban is a fool.

You're clearly smarter, more successful and cooler than he is. Saban = fool.

Yeah this isn’t a burn or anything, it’s actually cool that a guy like Saban would do this. Clearly he gets recruiting.

yep. big fat yep.

One of Saban's secrets to recruiting success isn't in just making the family feel like Alabama will be their son's 2nd home:
- he makes the family think of him, personally, as one of them.
- not just the recruit feels that way, moms and pops too.

One of the best marketing tools out there is 'group think'. If the kid feels like he's already one of the team and the family feels like Saban is just another uncle, a short one, then 'group think' is in play from two different directions.

Me personally, I think he loves this stuff. Saban has a hard time getting out of coach mode. Always has. Mrs. Terry has been invaluable there. But hanging with recruits and especially their families is way to have one foot in each world. He feels like he's still doing his job, hasn't run away from his obligations (or given up that precious control) but is doing something non-coaching at the same time. It's like a mechanic that builds bicycles for enjoyment.

I like the moment he looks at the camera and you know he’s thinking, “frick. This will be on the Internet.”

It’s dancing. It’s an easy line dance. Why would he hate it? And he ain’t mad at all about it going viral.

If he's still willing to go over the top like this, it's clear he's not retiring this off-season.

I get people hate him, but do you really think Saban is the only coach who would do this on a recruiting visit? This is far from “making a fool of himself.”

"Come to Bama and finish second in the West" is the truth, but maybe not very effective when it comes to recruiting.
