That was a very impressive performance by the Flyers, but you have to be careful not to overreact. The Habs were left for dead at 3-1 against the Caps and Halak got lit up against the Pens in game 1 of that series as well. Having said that, there are a few things that are definitely not flukes. The Flyers play a physical game and crash the net. Leighton was outstanding in the regular season and has been impressive in his limited playoff experience thus far. There's no reason to believe he'll suddenly crack. And cumulatively, the Habs have played more games. The Flyers just went through a grueling series, but their first series was a hell of a lot easier than what the Habs went through. The Habs really need to win game 2. The Flyers are on a 5 game win streak and have all the confidence in the world.

d again, thoughtful analysis
It is all about momentum in the playoffs and there is no telling what the trigger will be....that was my first thought after the game the Habs have somehow crawled back into the other two series...I is reminiscent of that JS Guiguire led Ducks team a few years back...it seemed that the ducks needed every last game to make it through...

Halak has thrown a turd in the punchbowl once a series. I'm not declaring his hot streak over just yet. He played this poorly against the Pens in game one and bounced back.
With as great as he's played, he's entitled to a bad game. He just needs four good ones a series to advance.

Waited for years for the Jackets to make the playoffs, finally get two games (cause we sucked and got swept, that's all that was home) and I couldn't go to any due to lax. And I'll be going to college next year, so probably won't be able to go to any then, unless they make it deep into the playoffs (or play Chicago in the first round, I could maybe go to a few when the Blackhawks play the Jackets at home).

im sure than ran you a few dollars. I went to caps/pens game 5 last year in dc and it set me back. But playoff hockey in person is well worth it.

Awesome. Have fun; that's going to be a hell of an atmosphere. Call it a hunch, but something tells me this one will be closer than Game 1

Just saw where Pat Hickey from the Montreal Gazette had his quebec license plate removed and his tires slashed at the wachovia center. Just talked to friend of mine who was there with a one year old child and was harassed by filthy yankee trash aka philly fans...worst in pro sports. Why can't people just stick to good natured ribbing and good sportmanship?? any type of assault for no reason at all is ridiculous. but beer thrown on people? verbal threats? I'll bet philly security did nothing. more useless trash. Wow, what a way to treat visitors. stay classy philly fans

Just so I'm clear... when Montreal fans misbehave, it's a few bad apples, but when Philly fans do, the entire fanbase is trash? Good to know.
Though Flyer fans are pretty scary. Philly is intense.

"There are a lot of good people in Philadelphia who were very helpful to me after the damage was done," said Hickey, a sportswriter for 45 years. "So I don't want to forget about them. It was just a couple of Flyers fans who got me good, I guess."
Every fanbase has a few bad apples, but who's to say it wasn't some upset Habs fan after the shalaking in game1? I'm sure the Flyers fans attending games 3 or 4 at the Bell/Moslon Centre will have the red carpet rolled out for them.
By the way there was only 1 tire slashed.
