It will be an 8 Montreal vs a 6 or 7. Wow
Yesterday we were talking about Hockey teams movong. I said rumor was Islanders going to KC. Today's rumor in Ny is the Islanders moving west 10 miles to Queens.
Let' see new arena brooklyn for the Nets and one in Queens for the Islanders but no money for schools or subways. No way

The Habs clearly wanted that game a lot more than the Pens. They were more focused and stuck with the system that got them there. Fleury was absolutely awful and he allowed way too many soft goals this postseason. I was adamant about that from the first series and had said he'd have to be over .900% for the Pens to win this one. He was at .899 going into this game and it was evident which way he'd be going after the first shot. When the other team's goalie is playing as well as Halak, you can't afford to let in soft ones on a consistent basis on the other side. Of course, the Habs got more than just good goaltending, but I don't think it would've even come to a game 7 if not for Halak. Game 7 itself was a trouncing in just about every area. That's not a good way to end the season, but I don't imagine that fans in Vancouver, Detroit, or Washington are much happier. I think part of the reason Detroit and Pittsburgh struggled was the accumulation of the deep runs they've made the previous 2 seasons. That's a lot of extra games; especially for the vets (moreso for Detroit).
This leaves things wide open in the East; especially since the Flyers have climbed all the back to even it up. I'm not sure what to make of that series anymore. I think Leighton may have been the worst thing that could've happened to Boston. He was 16-5 during the regular season and his save % was around .920. Boucher had been 9-18 with a .899. And he obviously didn't crack under the pressure in game 5 or 6 so there's no reason to think he'll suddenly do so in game 7. Boston's offense has really struggled since Krejci went out and I'm not sure if they'll have enough to take out a rejuvenated (and healthier) Flyers attack. As far as the Habs, I wouldn't think they'd be too concerned with who they have to face since they just beat the two favorites (although not by seeding) in the East, but I'm sure they'll be glad to get the extra days of rest. I'm wondering how they're going to hold up after going back to back 7 game series, but it'd be foolish to count them out of anything after the run they've had.

And apparently they had some rioting issues in Montreal. I know it's been a while by their standards, but I hope they didn't forget that you don't win the Cup by beating the previous years' champ. They've got two more series left to play...

same dipshits rioting/looting just like they did in LA after the lakers won it all many times and like when Boston has won multiple championships in multiple sports....good suffer for the bad. i doubt those guys are even fans. probably just troublemakers looking to stir things up in the wake of what has happened. hopefully they do not start huge bonfires on cars like the riots in LA and Boston in the past.

no they didn't but after the Jays won back to back World series over a million on the streets and no rioting or looting...

well, you have to be proud of LSU fans and Saints fans here! two national championships in football last decade,BOTH in New Orleans and NO RIOTS! also, the saints win their first SUPER BOWL ever and also NO RIOTS!. I just do not understand some of those cities that riot out west and northeast. again, i think most of those are just out to cause trouble and could really care less and are capitalizing on the moment to stir up trouble. it sucks that it makes the vast majority of the fans suffer because of the actions of a few. oh well, c'est la vie.

God, I hate the Habs. Though they really kicked the ever livin' crap out of the Pens last night.

I'd like to see the Islanders stay in New York. It was kind of interesting to see the Devils, Rangers, and Islanders go at it as geographical rivals.
The teams I could give a shite about are some of the Sun Belt teams, and maybe the California teams. Moving them into the Nets arena seems like a decent deal if they could accomplish that.
