flying elbow = very legal and not warranting a suspension when you play for the pens

Gonchar was trying to demonstare to the Canucks that is possible to play even worse defense than they did. Wow. That was all sorts of ugly.

bruins are done. we have no offense whatsoever. the small string of hope i'm clinging to is the flyers are drained a little after tying this series up. if the bruins lose, thats 3 straight years of game 7 losses. the last 2 at home

Who wins tonight in Game7 Flyers vs Bruins?

The Flyers have ALL the momentum right now. I think Leighton's play will be huge tonight and the Flyers need to score that all important first goal. I say the Flyers complete the comeback tonight 4-1!

Reagardless East & West Conf Finals both start Sunday!
The Sharks will host the Blackhawks at 3 p.m., ET in Game #1 of the Western Conference Final on Sunday. Either the Bruins or the Flyers will host the Canadiens Sunday at 7 p.m., ET. That game will be televised exclusively by VERSUS in the U.S. and by CBC and RDS in Canada.

I can't believe this is going seven. I have proudly not watched a moment of this series due to my fiery hatred of both teams, but I'll break down tonight.

BTW - Halak's save percentage is in steady decline. After posting a Save percentage around 950 against the Caps, it was merely 920 against the Pens. At this rate, he'll be at 890 in the conference finals.

I don't think the decline continues because of Halak. If it does, it will be a defense that just finally loses it. They are so scrappy. When I watch them, it seems like pucks just bounce their way...kind of odd. I don't think this is the case where a team finally gels. I just think they are on this amazing streak...

I was kind of kidding about Halak, who is playing absurdly great. He just went from impossibly great against the Caps to merely "normal" great against the Pens.

The Habs have been incredibly lucky this postseason that Halak has just gotten so hot, but they will be in the odd position of being BETTER than whoever they face in the conference finals. I wonder how their style will change once they are, at the very least, on an even talent level.

Halak displayed that potential before this season, just not in the crunch time. it's weird seeing Montreal back in position to make it to the cup.

I agree with you about them being on an even level as their next opponent. If anything, they might have the edge simply because they will be more rested than their opponent, and definitely less mentally drained. They are playing with house money though.

I still say the Habs "style" is nothing impressive. When I have watched them this postseason, which has been rarely...I admit, it looks like things just go their way. All of a sudden a loose puck will end up on the doorstep for someone, usually Camilleri (sp?) to take advantage of.

That's the point...I just think they are damn lucky. They have some talent, and obviously a legit goaltender. But beyond that, they are pretty scrappy. Things have just...worked for them I guess.
