Definitely in a mini-slump (I hope). The second line has been horrific and these past two nights there wasn't a whole hell of a lot more anyone could ask out of our goalies (maybe one from each they'd want back).
To be honest though, this fits more of the Bednar vibe we've been used to - early season struggles, then getting hot when it matters (of course, to often disappoint in the second round).

By the time Connor's contract is up, if still with the Devils, Yegorov should be ready to step in if they don't trade him off.
I like the trade for both teams, but in terms of players gained by Winnipeg, no real top talent there. A top 6 forward in Mercer - not your #1 guy, should be a solid second-line player. Daws is crap. Devils probably happy to clear the slate of future goaltenders a few years back (Schmid, now Daws) and getting an elite goalie in return. If they get Olympics version Helle, it's a great outcome for them.

Good win by the Avs and MacKinnon again shows he's the best power skater in the NHL, but goodness this feels like the Avalanche season us fans have unfortunately gotten used to.
