One of you nerds is going to have to explain the go for 2 down 15 thing to me again cause I just don’t get it. Now you are down 9 and the clock is working against you

I think the issue is some of these numbskulls have been doing it down 14. Don't get slackster started.

I guess it’s because at some point you’re going to have to convert a 2 pt anyways. If you kick the Xp, and then don’t get the 2 pt next TD, it’s still a 2 pt game. You just know earlier that you’re down 2 scores vs thinking you’re about to tie and then failing. Or some analytics bs, idk.

Failing early or late, you still fail. Learning that you failed as early as possible gives you more information and time to work with.

Yeah but now the opposing team knows you need two scores. Unnecessary to give them that information when you don't have to

It's all about knowing how you need to use your time. If you kick the XP, you're down 1 score and more likely to use all of your time on the next score. Then you miss the 2pt and just lose.
If you go for 2 first and miss it, you know you need two scores, so you can stop early for a FG and onside and give yourself a chance. If you get it, you can play for a last second score for the win.
