Bank of America with the help of Jerry Jones. Thanks Jerry!

It's happening boys.

quote:

@AndrewBrandt: Reports of Raiders now having the votes to move to Vegas. Have said all along owners will not let $750M in public money die on the vine.

quote:

@JasonColeBR: Have heard from 4 owners now on #Raiders/Vegas. Appears all momentum is toward owners approving the relocation, even if they don't want to.

quote:

@RapSheet: The #Raiders have told the @nfl they secured financing from Bank of America for their Las Vegas stadium, as @DailyNewsVinny said. Major news

quote:

@LATimesfarmer: Raiders present what one insider calls a "very strong" Las Vegas plan, backed by Bank of America.

quote:

With Bank of America on board as a lender for the Raiders’ stadium project in Las Vegas, the NFL finally seems sold on letting the team move to Southern Nevada.

According to NFL.com, the league’s joint committee is expected to recommend the Raiders’ relocation proposal to the NFL’s 32 owners when they get together for their annual meeting, which runs March 26-29 in Phoenix.

No, Jerry has been spearheading the Vegas stadium for the last few weeks rounding up investors all over the place.

Are you nuts?

That is the exact opposite of what Jerry would want.

Great news. American cities that are known around the world need NFL teams. And Las Vegas with its cache deserves one! Congrats!

I've been a Raiders fan since 1980.

I think at this point...they should just be a traveling team.

Every 2-3 years they can rent out their services to different cities to honor their commitment to Raider Nation.

The original and only nation.

So since the Raiders are THE national brand in American sports...

Lets just rent space in certain stadiums...Dallas, Superdome, Coliseum, sell a million tickets and move on to the MetLife, etc.

I want this to happen but until a final decision is made, they need to stop with all the teases. I'm sure by next Thursday they'll say the Vegas deal has all but fallen apart. Then two weeks later it'll be back on the table.

Seriously, this has been back and forth for several months now.

There's an owners' meeting in late March. That will be the last hurdle for the team, as they just need 24 votes to pass.

Jones didn't want a 3rd NFL team in TX.

Some speculated that Mark Davis floated San Antonio to get Jones to help him move a few years back. Looks like that might have played out.

So does this mean that we get to call the Las Vegas Stadium Jerryworld 2.0?

quote:

It's happening.

It was happening with or without this new financing. The Raiders already had $750million from the state of Nevada and the NFL's money. They might not have been able to build a stadium that could rival Jerry World or the new LA stadium but they would have built a stadium in Vegas.

Schefter said today on SC that the vote at the end of the month is expected to pass, Raiders to Vegas.

Guess we're going to push a bunch of pro franchises into another transplant city where they'll get no support

I thought this too, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. People will show up for games. People will travel to see their team play in Vegas and I'm sure high rollers will be checking in too. It's actually a pretty good idea.

Well I'm splitting season tickets with my brother and we'll be flying in for the home games, I'd imagine a lot more will do the same with how cheap it is.

Just a 4 hour drive from LA too right? Lot will make that drive as well.

I guess that makes sense.... just something else to do when you're in Vegas.

Hopefully it works out

Yes it's 4 hours from Los Angeles, and even less from eastern suburbs. Don't forget Las Vegas has a ton of flights flying to it as a hub for Southwest Airlines, and this will mean easy transportation for the throngs of opposing fans much easier. Talk about one hell of a weekend vacation for people!
