OJ carried it 332 times in his 2,003 yard season.

All in a 14 game season.

It really blows my mind that he managed to rush for over 2,000 yards in just 14 games. No one else ever managed to do it.

What Earl Campbell did in his first three years is pretty amazing. The Oilers we're garbage and the 1st two years they made it to the AFC championship game.

Ah, they weren’t garbage they had other good players, Bethea, Brazile, Mauck, Burroughs. 1977, the year before getting Campbell they were 8-6. 78 was the first year of the 16 game schedule and they expanded the playoffs from 8 to 10 with the Wild Card game and the Oilers were the 5 seed.

If we go by the same grading system we use for QB's (using obviously RB stats) the best 2 year run is TD.

He carried John to back to back SB's and that two year run cemented his bust in Canton.

Terrell Davis looks even better in this regard. His two dominant seasons both resulted in Super Bowl victories and he averaged 150 yards rushing and 2 TDs for those playoff runs.

Riggins 82 and 83. Carried the team to a Championship in 82 with 4 straight 100 yard games, including an iconic game winning run. Record setting 83 season where he led the team to another SB appearance. All while in his 30s. Put him in the HOF..

only jim Brown in my lifetime ran over people like riggins.

Truly powerful.
Steelers fb from mt holly nj franco harris, similar.

Terrell Davis needed 266 yards in his last two games to rush for over 2,000 yards in a 16 game season...and he barely got it.

It's not outlandish that OJ in a 16-game season could've rushed for over 2,200 yards...that's just 100 yards per game his last two games. OJ was averaging 143 yards per game.

In 1973, with OJ the Bills finished with the #1 rushing offense in the NFL.

The Super Bowl Champs Dolphins with their two-headed monster finished #3.

The Bills had more yards, more YPA, more TDs and more YPG than the Super Champ Dolphins.

The Bills finished 9-5 and failed to make the playoffs. Finishing 2nd to the Super Bowl Champ Dolphins in the AFC East. It was a one man show...as OJ won league MVP.

Dickerson went for 4,455 total yards 83-84 which is more. Dunno why you left Dickersons receiving yards off while using Holmes.
