In a normal year we’d probably be excited about how wide open college football is...but with Bama right now it seems like a season long coronation.

They haven’t really been tested but frick they look damn good.

I’d be shocked if Bama doesn’t win it all.

NFL, no clue who will win it.

Rams, Saints, Panthers, Eagles, Vikings, Packers, Bears, Falcons (think they are too banged up)

Chiefs, Patriots, Jaguars, Steelers, Ravens, Bengals

they've played two Sun Belt teams and I'm glad South Alabama wasn't one of them.

the only Sun Belt team currently that MIGHT tip the scale a little vs. them would be App. State.

to be fair, the NFL has had it's share of oddities so far this year too.

The Titans have beaten the Jags and Eagles for example.

The Bears are tough.

the Raiders traded their best player to the Bears.

the Steelers are 1-3 and Bell is chilling until Week 7.

College Ball does produce better upsets but the politics of the Final Four and the over saturation of Bowl games usually doesn't set right with me.

Still a lot of season to go

I mean I guess there are more upsets, but in the grand scheme of thing does it really matter if the #8 teams gets dropped by the #25?

The “every game” matters crowd in college football is a little off, that statement is only true for a handful teams.

Week 4 NFL overnight ratings up +7% from Thu-Mon across all networks. Includes six common windows in both years; excludes Sunday AM London game in '17.

Because they tend to be even more out there compared to the rest of the site. And as typical with most political forums, it’s quite an echo chamber.

Because there is no discussion unless you're full on board. Otherwise, you'll get screamed out of there.

And they honestly don't police that board. At all.

The NFL in 2018 is not equal to the NFL in 1977. Players used to lay wide receivers out, and body slam QB’s. Hands to the face were allowed. Hitting QB’s low was ok. No collar rule. Stick ‘em was in use. Real men playing tough football.

Now, you can’t touch pretty boy A-Rod or Eli Manning. It’s a pussy game now. And these mofo’s are now making life changing salaries and spending more time playing in domed stadiums.

Back in the good old days.

I wonder how long people have been saying that.

Everything you just said was wrong. Jesus you even called Eli Manning a pretty boy. That's enough internet for you today.

There's like two more domed stadiums now than the 70s.

it hasn't helped that you've got 1 great team and then a whole lot of meh

Also helps that in the NFL any team can win the championship if they win out.

In college football 1/2 of the teams have no chance regardless of what they do. Certain teams get mulligans that no one else will get. Conference titles are meaningless. It’s a horrible system.

I prefer FCS over FBS. Win your conference and you get a shot. Granted you might get killed by NDSU in the first round but you at least had a chance.

I find college regular season means less and less with certain teams getting those free passes and it has hurt enjoyment of the product.

Meanwhile in the NFL if the Saints/Panthers and Cowboys all enter the last week at 9-6 I’m watching those games as it will determine who has a shot at the Super Bowl and who gets to play golf early.

NFL isn’t putting a a 10-6 second in their division Cowboys team over a 10-6 division champ Saints just because they are Dallas. Saints, as division champs, get the nod. They get rewarded for winning their division while Dallas stays home for failing to do so.

The rules are very clear.

In cfb a 1 loss division runner up Alabama is possibly getting in over a 1 loss Big Ten champion Wisconsin team. Their is no criteria to get in the playoffs. It’s a very stupid way to pick a champion.

Conference championships should hold more weight than the name on the front of your jersey or the money in your athletic department.

I’m not trying to pick on Alabama as their are a few teams that would get the same “get out of jail free” card.

Two seasons with networks focusing on kneeling and the ratings were down. This season no kneeling hype and rating are up. Hmm. I thought ratings were down because of streaming and all the other excuses. Seems it was the kneeling.

So you're saying people didn't really care about the kneeling, just the coverage of the kneeling? The boycott was virtue signaling?
