It was week 1 and there seems to be a bunch of franchises trying to change their offensive schemes up.

I think it will look a lot better in week 2, but the defenses have the upper hand right now.

What do teams average now... like 8 possessions each and 3ish minutes for each scoring drive? You're probably not going to be getting huge yardage numbers when a 50% TD success rate is 28 points and a quarter worth of game time eaten up. Then there are factors like if your opponents offense gets shut down you'll get less yards simply due to field position.

College football moved away from pro style offenses

There were rarely any legitimate "pro style offenses" in CFB.

And CFB used to be the innovator and the NFL basically ripped off all of that innovation for years.

The dominant vein of the NFL offenses are the Mike Shannahan/Kubiak spin on the WCO. Go look at the league and the Kyle Shannahan and McVay coaching trees

Teams run by one of these guys or who have an OC who worked directly under either.

SF
LAR
GB
CIN
MIN
MIA
TEN
HOU
NO
ATL
TB
CHI

This isn't even counting the Jets, who have a HC (was a DC) and OC (too many degrees removed) from the tree (OC under Lafleur but not under McVay direcly).

This also isn't counting other WCO teams like KC, CLE, or LV (whose OC was under Lafleur in GB)

So roughly half the league
