NFL players being blacklisted RIGHT before the draft

Does it bother anyone else about this recent media epidemic of players having their futures effected by having news spread of their unproven wrongdoings?
I say this because of the obvious (Guice), but I've seen it for the last 2-3 years. Guice, Laremy Tunsil, and Lael Collins are the recent guys I can think of. (Collins situation was more legal, yet still BS). I also consider Josh Allen part of it.
I know it would be near impossible to implement some rules towards social media regarding a player, but it just doesn't make sense in my head why there are people out there that wait until right before the draft to spew unprovable things about a player to effect his draft status. Idk why it bothers me so much.
For Josh Allen, somebody went through his early highschool twitter to make him look bad THE DAY BEFORE THE DRAFT. THEY SAT ON THAT. I mean COME ON... I'm not trying to preach that their are stupid people in the world because it's a waste of time, but the fact that it gets picked up like this nowadays to ruin someone's future really bothers me...
This thread is pointless, I know, but I just hope this isn't the future for players.

I think the bigger issue here is that these guys paying thousands for managers and agents but none thought to scrub their social media page when theirs apps that cost a couple bucks that will do it for you
As far as the Guice stuff goes, idk what happened

these teams are investing MILLIONS in these guys. I think they are just doing their job.

quote:Good point. But I'm not really judging the teams on drafting a guy late because of the precautions. I'm just disgusted about what CAN happen before a draft to ruin someone's future. It seems like it can happen to anyone.

The Josh Allen thing was disgraceful. He posted song lyrics and just sounded like a white guy who spent time with a lot of black guys, which I'm sure he did playing football.
Oh, and a freaking Modern Family quote.

The josh Allen thing is everything that is wrong with our PC culture today. He should have been like yeah I did that who gives a shite

On a side note, I love Josh Rosen's sense of humor with the cameras lately.

Also Guice wasn’t black listed. He got drafted in the second round. This shite is so stupid

Like this happens.
Obvious?
Please tell?
What are you Mel kiper and think you know more than GM's about talent?
NFL teams care about talent end of story.

There was a video of Tunsil, completely different than what happened with Guice and Collins

Allen was a Wyoming Qb with good measureables but decent at best arm with a decent at best college career. I'm not convinced anyone chose him any differently.
You also have to realize that teams overhype players to make teams pick players they don't want and play dirty to get players to drop to them.
There was rumor that the Allen stuff was leaked to get him to drop to a team that wanted him. So TIFWIW.
I'm by no means perfect, but I have literally nothing on social media that would hurt me in a job interview. So sorry I'm not sorry.

Guice is a good player, but he's not a necessarily better than the other 4-5 RBs drafted after Barkley. If teams have ANY reservations about him, it's not a surprise that they took another RB.
He doesn't seem like the smartest guy either based on his actions, so he only has himself to blame.

Guice certainly wasn’t being “blacklisted” but you’re not being honest with yourself if you believe teams didn’t pass on him.
