Was JJ's peak better than Aaron Donalds? I think JJ's stats are better but it felt Aaron Donald had a pressure every single play.

Yes.

His team just never made it far in the playoffs.

For Example:

Watts peak (‘12-15, 64 games) 69 Sacks, 259 Solo Tackles, 119 TFLs, 190 QB hits, 15 FF, 41 deflections

Donald’s Career (‘14-19, 93 games) 72 sacks, 217 solo tackles, 117 TFLs, 173 QB hits, 15 FF, 11 Deflections

System qb

Stupidest fricking argument ever.

If Brees is a system QB then so is God Wonderboy Tom Brady. GTFOH

That poster is an idiot, but Brady had run so many different systems it's laughable to call him one.

I'm going to say that they don't. I know who he is bc I feel I'm more than a casual fan, but I would guess that most casual fans nowadays do not know who Bruce Smith is.

I'm not asking who wins the actual award - I'm asking who was the best player in the NFL the last decade.

Earl Thomas?

the hell has he won the past decade?

I can understand how someone who is mysteriously both a Patriots and Alabama fan might be confused about things but championships don't define individual players.

Watt's 2014 season is as good as any defensive player has ever had. I love Donald but Watt has been the best defensive player in this decade.

Tom Brady has lead his team to the super bowl more than 50% of the seasons he’s played in for almost 20 years. There’s no argument about this. Stats are awesome and I’m a huge Drew Brees Homer, but Tom Brady’s accomplishments will never be approached. Period

Hard to really quantify his efforts, but he deserves a mention.

For the life of me I can't figure out why team accomplishments matter so much in this debate.

Gronk, Watt, hell, even Keuchly have a case.

Without much thought or looking into it, I think Julio would have a case. He came into the league in 2010 and has been dominant, top 3 at his position, the entire decade.

Mentioned him in the OP.

I think the QB debate takes away from players who may have been better. Julio and Megatron come to mind.

If any QB belongs in the discussion it’s Rodgers.

But honestly we need to really look at defense for the BOTD - Watt, Keuchly, and Thomas.

Dark horse is Yanda.

A guy like JJ Watt is more dominant at his position than Brady's been at his. The idea that it's not close is ridiculous.

JJ Watt hasn't done shite in the playoffs so yes it isn't close bruh

Are you slow?

Dude has 5 sacks, 8 TFL, 5 passes defended, and a TD to boot, all in only 6 playoff games.

The fact the team typically sucks is lost on many of you, obviously.
