The ASU Wisconsin ball spot fiasco was just as bad.

I wonder if espn is going to try to keep Herbstreit and Fowler on MNF. It’s crazy how much better they are then any for their past crews

I'd hate to completely lose them from college but it's impressive how good they are. Of course the flip side of that is it's depressing how awful so many other announcing teams ESPN uses for college and pro tend to be.

I mean the Wisconsin QB did some weird shite to declare himself down, didn't he just leave the ball on the ground? Idk why he didn't just take a knee. I havent looked at that play in a long time tho

This is the only game they’re calling. Much like Berman when called the late Monday night doubleheader. Levy, Greise, and Riddick were annnouced as the new team

Giants not getting killed and I am shocked. Glad they mentioned Itinhead GAywRd. Saw him play in the Meafowlands high school state playoffs. Great runner.

That ASU/Wisky game looked like a "Refs wanna go home" special.

Yeah he rolled left and put the ball on the ground. There was nothing wrong with what the refs did. That was a similar play to the kickoff to open the second half of the Bills/Texans playoff game. The Texans returner caught the kickoff, didn't give a fair catch signal or take a knee, and threw the ball forward. It should have been an illegal forward pass from his own end zone and a safety. Unbelievably, the refs said he was giving himself up and called it a touchback. That was one of the worst calls I have ever seen in the NFL.

Actually there was tons they did wrong

They didn’t give ball to ASU. Kept clock running and then didn’t let a snap go off after spotting the ball with no substitute coming on

It was awful officiating

I think they were discussing whether it was a fumble or if he was down. Don't get me wrong it was awful, awful officiating. But I can understand why they were confused because the QB had to be that cute about downing the ball for no real reason. It doesn't make the call right dont get me wrong, but I can simply understand the confusion.

With the OU/Oregon game, there were MULTIPLE calls that were complete bullshite. They even reviewed it, said there was CONCLUSIVE video evidence that Oregon recovered the kick when A) an Oregon player touched the ball before 10 yards and B) there was conclusive video evidence that Oklahoma recovered the ball.

Wisconsin/ASU was bad, but its not on the level that Oklahoma/Oregon was. But it does show that the Pac 12 refs are the worst of the bunch as much as people like to bitch about their own conference's officials.

The Oregon game was 3 horrible calls and then a blatant mistake on possession that cost OU.

Yep. They should have ruled it a fumble and given ASU the ball. Regardless, Stave fricked up and Wisconsin rightfully was not given another snap. It should have been ASU ball and they would have taken a knee and killed the clock.

Nothing will ever top the Oklahoma/Oregon onside kick fiasco from 2006.

I believe this was one of the last games where the home conference refs were used in a OOC matchup for P5 schools

It was just a blatant screw job plain and simple as that. Not incompetence. Cheating.

Such a tremendous upgrade over Tess and Booger. Fowler and Kirk are what professionals are supposed to sound like.

Herbie talks too much. He’s a lot like Joe Theismann for me. He must get paid by the word.

For Mike Patrick to make Theismann tolerable, shows you how great he was.

I love Herbstreit but he just dropped the “The Giants have been playing hard for Joe Judge” line.

Well, I hope so, they are professional athletes and it’s the 1st game of the year
