He lost me at Chip is better than Saban because he crams a lot into practice and he knows this for fact because he saw one practice at each lol

the Eagles did look sharp on offense but the Redskins O got off to a dreadful start with the turnovers.

ended up only losing by six points after all of that.

Awwww, reading comprehension, it's tough isn't it.

I never once said Kelly was better than Saban. Hopefully you know that and are just attempting to fabricate erroneous statements to make me look like an idiot, or maybe you just can't read.

Which is it?

He lost me way before this but I had to read this one a couple of times.

quote:

How much you can accomplish in practice is about as good a way to measure a coach as there is. Kelly gets more done than anyone. He'll be successful.

I guess something is wrong with me. I always looked at wins and losses as the best way to measure a coaches performance.

Awww, Bill Belichik thinks Chip Kelly is smart enough to seekout and study under him in the offseason, but the MSB thinks I'm a dumbass for thinking the guy is brilliant.

Hmmmm, which do I lend more credence to?

That makes very little sense, that middle part.

You said Kelly is top 5 coach in the game, your philosophy is quantity > substance when it comes to practice, you've never seen anything like his practices...can we not connect the dots on what you were strongly trying to imply???

I said he's one of the "smartest" guys in the game. Can you really not read?

Funny you mention Mark Schlereth. The reason I singled out him, Merrill Hoge, and Ron Jaworski is that they played at Idaho, Idaho State, and Youngstown State respectively. They routinely speak of the transition of college to pro football as if every last detail of pro football will make each and every last NFL rookie will wilt in terror the second they enter an NFL stadium. It's as if they think their college experience playing in front of high school crowds is somehow typical of every college football player's experience and that playing in front of Raider fans or the Dog Pound in Cleveland is going to make a former SEC player piss his pants in fear. It's that lack of respect and perspective for big time college football that people like Ron Jaworski has that I'm talking about. It's one of the things I find about the off the charts delusional arrogance and dismissing of the college game that I find so annoying about some elements of the NFL.

For the record, I'm a big Saints fan and love the NFL. I just resent the attitude of so many NFL elitists and the seeming lack of respect they have for the college game.

For being the genius that he is chip kelly sucks at math....
33% more games ( not counting playoffs), 50% smaller roster in a sport with an extremely high injury percentage means mathematically his teams will have played many more snaps then their opponents. His two major stars both weren't able to play a full season last year as a result to injury and now you expect them to play more games. He's going to struggle having warm bodies by week 14.

Soapbox: the nfl needs to go to a 70 man roster.

This is a valid concern, no doubt.

One that if it comes to pass, you'll simply blame on the player and not attribute at all to the increased risk Kelly's offense brings.
