As promised, here's a nice video clip from the weekend.

New Orleans Rugby Football Club has had a very successful run over the past few years. In 2011, our first side won the 2011 Division 2 National Championship (in 2011 we had a D2 and D3 team). In 2012, our second side won the Division 3 National Championship (In 2012 we had a D1 and D3 team).

In our second year as a D1 team (highest division of USA Rugby), New Orleans has reached the national final four as a tremendous underdog. (We now field a D1 and D2 team).

We've traveled to Chicago in the Round of 32. We just traveled to Virginia Beach for the Rounds of 16 and 8, and now we travel to Denver for the final 4.

Could such a thing even be possible?

A shitload of engineers and lawyers on the team.

Love the answer for "Why Rugby" for one of the guys at the end...that is fairly large...his answer, because football pads make me look fat.

Maybe it is because your fat makes you look fat.

I think unfit is the preferred term.

And it isn't the fat, it's the new kits. They are like spandex.

Congrats Bus! Thought about making a thread myself to congratulate you. NOLA rugby is shocking the country! Those are all massive and very impressive wins.

Ill be rooting for yall next weekend.

My team (D2) picked the worst time to play our worst game of the season and was bounced by Pasadena by 3 points.

We are going D1 next year so it looks like with NOLA coming over to TRU, we will be playing each other next year.

And more impressive is how home grown our team is. Of our 23 man roster from Sunday, we had 2 from New Zealand, 1 from Oklahoma, 1 from Connecticut, 1 from Boston, 2 from Gulfport, and 16 from New Orleans.

Was shocked to see Frisco lose, especially with the near home-field advantage.

The near home-field I felt worked against us some. Friday night check-in for us at 6 meant the team had to get off work early Friday, fight rush hour traffic to get to Irving. Captain's run at 7 meant our guys didnt get home till late. 10 AM match meant wake up calls before 6. If we had to travel to California like the last few years, I think the team would have had more organized evenings. Everything kinda felt weird for lack of a better word.

No excuse still. We had 2 game films on them and they did exactly what we knew they were going to. We just played like absolute shite. Missed a penalty kick from 10 meters out and our English center tried to reverse field and throw a skip pass that was intercepted for a 50 meter try. Ill go to my death bed saying we are the better team...

Obviously I can go on about this but wont hijack your thread. Ill just be in the corner.

For NOLA, their 1st game was in Chicago, 2nd and 3rd games were in Virginia.

Next rounds will be in Colorado.

Life University won D1-A college over St. Mary. Life also has a men's team which, like its college side, is one of the top in the country.
