don't know. When you have a very limited offensive game and rely on your defense/athletic ability, I think teams may want to see that before spending a pick on him.

It's an incredibly weak draft this year and that's not counting anybody who makes a last minute decision to come back. He has enough potential that he'll get drafted even if he drops out of that #1 spot.

Just looking at NBADraft.net, which is only their predictions, they have guys like Withey and Dieng going at the bottom of the first. At this point, I think I would take either one of them over Noel and the hope he may come back normal.

For the most part the teams drafting late in first dont really need a player to make a difference right away. Most of those teams will take a chance at Noel because he will be a steal outside the lottery.

I think he still enters draft. He will probably still be a lottery pick even with the torn ACL. He'll still be able to play defense and block shots when he recovers from this injury.

Given how "down" the draft is supposed to be this year, I can see that.

Not like it is any riskier than the Rockets spending the #16 pick on Royce White's crazy arse this past draft.

Noel's upside is much higher than Withey and Dieng.

How about linking that instead of embedding?

Feel awful for him. But at least its not the worst case scenario as some were talking immediately after the injury. People were talking knee dislocations, breaks, and patellas

You can't see ACL or MCL tears in an X-ray

No shite. My point was that they had literally just talked about how it wasn't necessarily horrible news (because X rays were negative) like 20 seconds earlier.

ETA: Link now in the OP.

It's not..thanks for posting.

I had seen the video over and over and it was hard to see what happened. But that pic shows it clearly.

Oh he's gone. Draw a paycheck while devoting his full time to rehab IMO.

i think this as well. why spend a couple months (im assuming at least) rehabbing a torn acl in college when you could do it in the nba? could depend on how he feels when the entry deadline and shite comes around. brandon rush tore his acl in april after sophomore year and he was gone until that happened and he came back because of it. little different because he was late lottery compared to 1 overall, though.
