The Brands brothers got seriously outcoached by Cael and his staff in the finals in the 2 Big 10 finals rematches where Iowa and PSU went head to head.

Especially with Lee. He had the perfect gameplan for Eierman. Lee played it very conservative so he was able to keep out of positions that played into Eierman's funk and capitalize late in the match when Eierman was tired and frustrated. The Iowa staff should have seen this coming, hell I posted about it earlier in this thread and I'm far, far below the level of a college coach, and had Eierman go into the match upping his aggression but they got complacent with both Kemerer and Eierman and paid for it twice.

Agreed. Iowa walks away with the title but PSU absolutely stole the spotlight last night. PSU guys are calm and relaxed on the big stage, whereas Iowa guys tighten up and wrestle not to lose.

My kid has a meet in about an hour. It’s only his second meet he’s ever been in. He likes it so far and he seems to want to keep going. I’m just battling discouragement with him right now and he doesn’t understand that right now it’s about learning and not about winning.

How old is he?

For me it was about getting better year after year. From being on the JV my first year to being in the starting lineup then placing in the state tourney.... Being humbled is a great lesson wrestling can teach you along with work ethic and perseverance.

Lake Charles.

He had mental breakdowns again throwing fits after losing. He’s only been wrestling for two months and thinks he should be winning everything against kids that have more experience. It’s a struggle.

He went up against the kid that won his division first and put up a pretty good fight until he got tired.

He has drive, I’d be more concerned if he was ok with losing but he’s till young. Work on the things you can control, get him to do some push-ups and sit ups. Make anything you do seem like a game so it doesn’t feel like work to him..
